FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK | |
Hi All,
This week I want to provide some updates about the on-going construction efforts for “phase 2” of Ox Ridge. As we all enjoy our amazing academic wing, know that the “assembly wing”, which will house the school’s cafeteria, gym, library, music suite along with new playground and parking is coming along nicely.
The legacy facility is now completed removed with much of the material used to build that school safely repurposed for other construction projects in different states. The foundation for the assembly wing is now complete and all of the steel for the building will arrive on site starting Monday! We are still on track for opening the assembly wing and completing the total Ox Ridge building project for the opening of the 2023 school year.
I encourage you to check out our livestream / time-lapse camera that has tracked the project over the years here.
Thanks,
Luke

Dear Ox Ridge Parents,
Another Halloween at Ox Ridge is in the books! We hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween. Kindergarten parents got to come in for the Halloween parade and look at all the creative costumes. It was also so fun to see some of the teachers, administration and staff get caught up in the holiday spirit as well.
We have a busy week ahead with no school on Tuesday, for Election Day and picture retakes on November 10th. Ox will honor our Veterans on November 10th and students are encouraged to wear red, white and blue to school. If you haven't had a chance, be sure to check out the lost and found table in the front foyer if your child is missing anything.
Have a great week!
XO OX,
Christina & Meghan

NOVEMBER IS NATIONAL NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH
November is National Native American Heritage month. It offers the opportunity to celebrate the culture and history of Native Americans. Did you know that our state’s name "Connecticut" is an Algonquian Indian word that means “long river” and refers to the Connecticut River? How cool!
We invite you to learn more and experience the Native American culture by visiting the National Museum of the American Indian online collection, visit the Institute for American Native Studies in Washington, CT, as well as try a Native American recipe. Enjoy your time learning about and experiencing Native American culture!

BUDDY POPPIES
Ox Ridge will be honoring our veterans during our annual Veterans Day program on Thursday, November 10th. We will also help to rehabilitate disabled veterans by distributing “Buddy Poppies” to all students. Please consider sending in $1 with your child by Nov. 10th to support veterans in need right here in Connecticut. The Ox Ridge community will wear these poppies on the day of the program with pride to show veterans that we care, and to teach our children to respect and honor the defenders of our nation. Thank you for participating!
