Riva Ginsburg will present a lively, informative, humorous and interactive presentation on The Joys of Yiddish Language and Culture. Yiddish is a wonderful, rich language full of humor and vivid descriptive expressions and sayings. It has a bountiful tradition of literature, film, theater and poetry, which reflect the collective Jewish experience in Europe over the centuries. Ms. Ginsburg is a native speaker of Yiddish, born to Jewish resistance fighters in a displaced person’s camp in Fahrenvald, Germany shortly after the end of World War II, and is recognized nationally as an entertaining and talented lecturer. No knowledge of Yiddish is required to enjoy this witty and informative presentation.
