Finding Fifteen: How My Daily Walk to the 9/11 Memorial Became a Journey of Love, Hope & Survival
Tim Oliver will be sharing the stories of moments of hope that grew out of the difficult days of 9/11. One of the stories is a about Brooke Jackman and the literacy foundation that was created in her memory. Members of the Jackman family, cousins of Glenn and
Robin Steinberg, will be here to share their story.

Book Drive for the Brooke Jackman Literacy Foundation will be held.  

         From the beginning, we made a commitment not only to honor  Brooke’s memory, but to fulfill her dreams and carry on her legacy. Brooke had a deep love of reading and a profound interest in helping children.

The Joys of Yiddish Culture and Language with Riva Ginsberg
Friday, Sept 15  following 7:30 PM Shabbat Services with special Oneg sponsored by

Riva Ginsburg will present a lively, informative, humorous and interactive presentation on The Joys of Yiddish Language and Culture. Yiddish is a wonderful, rich language full of humor and vivid descriptive expressions and sayings. It has a bountiful tradition of literature, film, theater and poetry, which reflect the collective Jewish experience in Europe over the centuries. Ms. Ginsburg is a native speaker of Yiddish, born to Jewish resistance fighters in a displaced person’s camp in Fahrenvald, Germany shortly after the end of World War II, and is recognized nationally as an entertaining and talented lecturer. No knowledge of Yiddish is required to enjoy this witty and informative presentation.
