Children are invited to participate in this four-week Advent series where we will hear two stories: The Story of Jesus’s birth and The Store of the Nutcracker. The sessions are designed for children in kindergarten through eight grade as we explore what the stories and themes of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker ballet can teach us about Christmas and the coming of Christ into the world. We will meet in the Parish House from 5:30-7:30pm on the following dates: Nov. 27, Dec. 4, Dec. 13 and Dec. 18. Dinner will be provided. The First Sunday of Advent, Sunday, December 2, 9:30am: Advent Lessons and Carols with Eucharist
This special service of Advent Lessons and Carols with Eucharist, Sunday, December 2, will be the opportunity to usher in the beginning of the church year with scriptural readings and music. Advent carols, choral anthems, hand bell music and vocal solos.
Advent is a season of both quiet reflection and joyful expectation. The service is intended to be a time of spiritual preparation, as we watch and wait for the coming of the Kingdom of God. Through our experience of sacred Word and music, the story of the coming of Christ will gradually unfold and deepen our understanding of God’s message of love and redemption.
