Collecting supplies till September 2nd
We have begun our Annual School Supply Drive.  The donations we collect are distributed in all three Nantucket Public Schools – elementary, middle school and high school. The supplies we provide help the students directly and are very much appreciated each year. A “shopping list” of suggested supplies is provided in the Sunday Bulletin and below. Please consider taking part in this important St. Paul’s outreach and help to make this school year a success for all students.

School Supplies & Backpack Blessing
Sunday, September 2nd, during the 10am service
As a way to celebrate the new school year, we invite students - young and old alike, to bring their backpack, book bag, or briefcase to the 10am service. Everyone who is involved in education is invited to take part as we, the congregation, show support through a special blessing for all students, teachers, volunteers, school nurses, bus drivers, custodians, and so forth.
Ring Them Bells!
For any and all who have wondered what it’s like to ring a handbell, here’s your chance to find out.

Following the September 2nd 10am service this morning, Nigel Goss, St. Paul’s Handbell Choir Director will conduct a quick tutorial on how to ring a handbell. It will be a hands-on experience all around, so come join Nigel after the service at the handbell tables at the front of the sanctuary.

Who knows, perhaps you’ll catch a spark to join the handbell choir!
Newcomers are always welcomed.

Flower Ministry
We are looking for volunteers to make smaller arrangements from the Sunday altar flowers to be delivered to those in the community who are ill, housebound, just need cheering, or are to be thanked for extraordinary service of some kind. Please let Christine (office@stpaulschurchnantucket.org) in the office know if you are interested in helping with this important ministry .

Flowers on Sunday
When we think about providing flowers for the altar for Sunday services, we generally think of making them a memorial to someone. But have you considered honoring a living loved one such as a graduating son, daughter or grandchild? Your own wedding anniversary or birthday, or that of a friend or relative? A neighbor’s baptism, confirmation, wedding? How about someone’s current achievement (good grades, sports feat, business success)? The possibilities are numerous and varied for providing the altar flowers for any or many weeks of the year. And your flowers keep on giving joy throughout the following days as they are recreated into smaller arrangements and delivered by Church members to various homebound folks needing cheer. Providing flowers for the altar on Sunday is one of the easiest forms of creative ministry. Please call Christine at the Parish House, 508-228-0916, to schedule your gift of flowers.
Libby Tracey and Nancy Jane Woolley will provide light refreshments for Sunday. Thank you for your help.
