Thank You from the School
Dear St. Paul's Community,
We appreciate the donations of school supplies and funds given to NPS. There are many students district wide that do not have the resources to get themselves off to the right start for school. St. Paul's community fulfills the dream for them to have a new backpack, notebook and supplies.
We as a district assess the donations and divide them through the 4 schools as to appropriate age level of supplies. We then use the monetary donation to supplement where needed. It appears backpacks and lunch packs are higher cost and therefore are the greatest need. The upper school appreciate the composition books and 3 ring binders as they are using them daily.
The perishable supplies are so welcomed in the elementary schools as we go through markers, and breakables in volume!
The extra supplies go into a supply space that teachers use as a helper spot when they see a student struggle. This has really empowered those that need them to be able to feel as though they are equipped.
Thank you again for the donations and support for all the years to our Educational system and children of the community!
Kindly,
Kim Albertson

Prayer of the Week
All Saints’ Day
Almighty God, you have knit together your elect in one communion and fellowship in the mystical body of your Son Christ our Lord: Give us grace so to follow your blessed saints in all virtuous and godly living, that we may come to those ineffable joys that you have prepared for those who truly love you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.

Calendar of Upcoming Events
2020 Stewardship Campaign
Our 2020 Stewardship Campaign is underway, with a brochure and pledge/gift card mailed to parishioners earlier this month.
Today, November 3rd, is Pledge Sunday, our in-church gathering of pledge cards.
We invite you to participate, but you can also mail your cards in at anytime by the end of the year, as well as contribute online at our website. We also have extra brochures and pledge cards on the table at the back of the church and in the church entryway.
The Pledging and Gifting process gives us a certainty of revenues that is invaluable for the church's financial planning. We believe that a meaningful contribution to our community--with financial and volunteer participation--is an integral part of our mission. And we'd always like to do more with our programs, ministries and outreach. Ideally, we would be able to commit the proceeds from our event fundraising activities – the Summer Fair, the Christmas Market, the Ships Inn dinners, etc.-which generate some $50,000 annually--to helping our community. However, these funds are currently needed to finance our operations.
You have generously supported St. Paul’s, and we’d like to expand our support for our island. We can only do so if you are prepared to open your hearts and increase your pledges and gifts. We are exploring ways to most effectively serve our island community with needs not now met by other nonprofit organizations. If you have pledged or gifted before, please prayerfully consider increasing your pledge or gift for 2020. If you have not pledged or gifted before, please consider making a pledge or gift. You can adjust your pledge or gift up or down if your circumstances change. For more information on giving to St. Paul’s, please visit us at
http://stpaulschurchnantucket.org/giving/
. We also welcome your advice and ideas for church stewardship, our campaign and how additional funds could be used in our outreach. Thank you.

Centering Prayer Group
Saturdays, 9am–10am in the Parish House
Facilitated by Sr. Susanna Margaret, OSB
Rooted in the prayer tradition of the Psalms where we are reminded Be still and know that I am God (Ps. 46:10), Centering Prayer is a simple, wordless way of praying that makes space for simply being with God and becoming more deeply aware of His presence.
Children’s Advent Series
Wednesday Dec. 4, 11, 18 in the Parish House from 5:30-7:30 PM
Join Sr. Susanna as we explore The Redemption of Scrooge . This Advent series invites us to enter into the pathos of Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol to discover anew the healing power of God’s grace. As we spiritually consider our past, present, and future, may we, like Ebenezer Scrooge, recommit ourselves to kindness and living with a generous spirit in today’s world of haves and have-nots.
Join us for a lesson, activity and discussion. Dinner will be served.
