The growth of the OKCMAR government affairs program is reflective of a desire to become an inclusive advocacy program. Victories have included:
-
Launching a homeless initiative that has made us one of the stakeholders in fighting homelessness across the metro
- Advocating to pass policies and working to increase housing inventory, specifically affordable housing across the metro
-
Continuing a five-year trend of growing RPAC - setting new records in the amount of investments, becoming one of the key players in passing the largest school bond in the history of OKCPS, helping Oklahoma County avoid an increase in property taxes through the Fix the Jail campaign, and helping to elect REALTOR® champions to OKC Council
-
Educating and engaging REALTORS® in OKC’s update to zoning codes that will soon be voted on
- Lobbying on important legislative issues during the Riding with the Brand Oklahoma kickoff
- Having April proclaimed as Fair Housing Month in Oklahoma City
This month we will showcase how OKCMAR members have been able to make a difference with the successes of the first six months of 2023!
