2022 Annual Awards Celebration

Thank you to everyone who attended our 2022 Annual Awards Celebration at Longwood Gardens last Thursday, November 3. It was a spectacular evening, networking among Longwood’s breathtaking floral displays and honoring two pillars of our Chester County community.

Congratulations to our 2022 Executive of the Year honoree, Kim Brumbaugh of Brumbaugh Wealth Management, LLC and 2022 Citizen of the Year honoree, Comcast, represented by Stephanie Kosta, Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs and Community Impact for Comcast’s Freedom Region

Other highlights include: We unveiled our NEW logo and website during the event! Our new website is to better serve our members with community resources, political advocacy, events, and more. South Coatesville Police Dept Police Chief, Kevin Pierce beautifully sang the National Anthem. The event concluded with a big screen watch party of both the Philadelphia Phillies World Series and Philadelphia Eagles games.

LEGISLATIVE UPDATE

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who ran for office, volunteered on election day, and those that work to help make our elections safe, timely and secure.

Congratulations to all of the candidates who won election! We look forward to providing opportunities to communicate and network with our businesses and informing you of the issues facing the business communities in our region.

3 Days after election and we still do not know who holds the PA House of Representatives. 2 races in particular are going to decide whether it remains in Republican control or if Democrats take over for the first time in roughly a decade.

HD 142 and HD 151 will be decided by military and provisional ballots in the coming days – and we hope this does not turn into another long drawn-out fight in the courts. The difference in HD142 comes down to 2 votes, while HD 151 is differentiated by 26 votes.

Further complicating the normal January proceedings of transition of power are the sitting elected officials who are moving on to other elected office. Specifically, Rep. Summer Lee and Rep. Austin Davis. Rep. Lee won her bid for US Congress and Rep. Davis won to become the next Lt. Governor. Their seats will need to be filled with special elections. Which, if you can follow this line of pieces moving in time, means if Democrats take control of the House, they still will not have a majority seated to vote until April(ish).

There is a lot of work to do April-June to prepare for the PA FY23-24 budget, and we wish the PA Legislature the best.

Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar

Restaurateur Dave Magrogan is preparing to open his ninth Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar, this one to be located at 51 Town Center Drive within the Providence Town Center in Collegeville, PA in the former Champp’s space. The expansive 8,000-square-foot outpost – the first new restaurant Dave Magrogan will open since the pandemic began, is set to open November 8, 2022.

The newest addition to the Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar brand, which will employ approximately 60 people, will feature 220 seats inside, plus another 50 spread between two outdoor patios. Lauren Mendicino, a Harvest and Dave Magrogan Group 12-year veteran, as well as the former General Manager of Harvest’s Lancaster location, will run the Collegeville location as the restaurant’s Operating Partner.

“We’re really excited to open this new location after grinding through the pandemic over the past 2 ½ years,” said Magrogan. “I am so proud of our teams at each and every location who not only got us through tough times, but exceeded our expectations and made us an even stronger company today. Lauren is a gifted and talented leader, and I am very confident in her ability to run this restaurant and help us become one of the top dining destinations in the Collegeville community. We’re really looking forward to opening during the fall, which is arguably our customers’ favorite menu of the year.”

The City Of Coatesville Outdoor Fitness Center Receives $25,000 Grant from the American Water Charitable Foundation

The Alliance for Health Equity was presented with a $25,000 grant from the American Water Charitable Foundation for the Greening Coatesville Initiative and Outdoor Fitness Center, as part of the Foundation’s 2022 Keep Communities Flowing Grant Program.
