The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity

This Sunday, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. "The mystery of the Most Holy Trinity is the central mystery of Christian faith and life. It is the mystery of God in himself" (CCC 234). While theologians and scholars have explored this mystery for centuries, the Trinity is ultimately not a puzzle to be solved, but a relationship to be entered into.

As we seek to understand this mystery, let us remember the true goal: not simply to know about God, but to know and love God himself more deeply. Every insight we gain into who he is—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—is an invitation to grow in love and awe.

This weekend’s readings offer us many reasons to love the Trinity. We see God as Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer—united in perfect love, self-giving, creative, and even delightfully playful. Before coming to Mass, consider spending some quiet time with the readings. What aspects of the Trinity are revealed to you? How do they draw your heart into deeper love and praise of God, three in one?

Truth, Beauty, and Goodness

The Wild Goose Series

The Wild Goose series is truly a work of the Holy Spirit from 4PM Media and The Ministry of The Wild Goose. “Wild Goose” was a term that the ancient Celts had for the Holy Spirit. It is a 14 part series featuring Fr. Dave Pivonka and various interviews. Shot in various locations from Niagara Falls to the California desert, The Wild Goose invites viewers to an encounter, or a renewed encounter, with the Holy Spirit.

The Most Holy Trinity

Christians are baptized “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” not the “names” of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Catechism explains this distinction by introducing us to the “central mystery of Christian faith and life”: the Trinity. Fr. Mike slows us down to meditate on what God reveals to us concerning his inner life, the very thing that “many prophets and righteous people longed to see… [and] hear.” Today’s readings are Catechism paragraphs 232-237.

I Believe (the Creed)

I believe in God our Father

I believe in Christ the Son

I believe in the Holy Spirit

Our God is three in One

I believe in the resurrection

That we will rise again

For I believe

In the Name of Jesus
