Last week was a very exciting one for the Laguna Road STEM Lab with the completion of its first ever 3D printing job! Thanks to help from 3rd and 5th graders we were able to find and print 3D models of both animal and plant cells. These 3D models allow the students to visualize cells in a brand new way, beyond what they see in a traditional textbook. The STEM Lab hopes to use our 3D printers to not only further the education of the students, but to enrich other Laguna Road programs and create objects that will prove useful to society and provide a positive impact in the world.
“STEM jobs are growing at 1.7 times the rate of non-STEM jobs, however only 16% of high school seniors are interested in these positions, per a study conducted by CNN.”
