Recorder's Office Issues Warning on Unsolicited Text Messages Claiming You Are Not Registered to Vote

As we edge closer to November's high-profile election, there are increasing reports of people receiving unsolicited text messages claiming the recipient is not registered to vote. The texts provide a link requesting the recipient click on it to register, and they are being sent regardless of whether the recipient is already registered to vote.

Unfortunately, there is no way to control the third parties sending them. The Recorder's Office strongly suggests that you delete the message and not click on any links or engage with the text message. To check your voter registration or to register to vote if you are not already registered, please visit my.arizona.vote.

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day

Find a Clinic

August 31 marks International Overdose Awareness Day, a global campaign to end overdose. According to the Arizona Department of Health Services, roughly 2,000 people died of a confirmed opioid overdose each of the past four years. Naloxone (Narcan) can reverse an overdose from opioids, including heroin, illegally made fentanyl and fentanyl analogs, and prescription opioid medications.

Often given as a nasal spray, naloxone is safe and easy to use. Anyone can carry naloxone and give it to someone experiencing an overdose, and potentially save a life. You can obtain Naloxone (Narcan) at a Pinal County Public Health Clinic.

Pinal County Attorney's Office Shares

Amanda's Story of Recovery

Many people who enter the criminal justice system suffer from substance use and abuse. The road to recovery can be difficult, but not impossible.

Amanda, featured in a recent video on the County Attorney's Office Facebook, got hooked on fentanyl, an all too common problem in our communities today. She entered the criminal justice system and was sentenced to Pinal County Adult Probation. Amanda entered - and then graduated - from the Drug Treatment Court. She is now in a much better place in her life.

She shares her story in order to give others hope, while also dissuading those from ever trying fentanyl in the first place.
