Pinal County Recorder Dana Lewis Prepares Voters for Upcoming Election

Pinal County Recorder Dana Lewis wants to ensure every eligible voter in Pinal County is prepared to exercise their right to vote. She has been making a concerted effort to educate the public on what it requires to be ready to cast your vote, where to vote, and the options of early voting in that and other elections this year.

Recorder Lewis explained, "Unlike other elections, those wishing to cast their vote in our version of a presidential primary election, what we call the Presidential Preference Election, must be registered as a Republican or Democrat. By state law, registered independents and other parties are exempt from this election, which is considered part of the nomination process. For this reason, they are restricted to registered voters within the parties appearing on the ballot." Continue reading

Board of Supervisors Non-profit Grant Program Now Accepting Applications

Each year, the Pinal County Board of Supervisors provides contributions through the General Fund to eligible organizations whose projects align with the county's strategic goals. Projects and organizations should contribute to the county's cultural, social, and economic vitality by addressing a community need and promoting benefits to the general public as opposed to a special interest or persons.

Contributions may be made to any governmental agency or to a nonprofit corporation that enjoys and maintains federal tax-exempt status as long as all monies are utilized for the purpose determined to be public by the Board.

Applications for FY 2024/25 are being accepted until Monday, March 11, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. When submitting your application, please be sure to include all of the required attachments in order for your project to be considered for funding.
