Grace Farmers' Market 2026 Season Begins This Saturday!
We’re excited to kick off the first market of the season this Saturday, April 11, from 1pm-4pm! We'll start the season with local vendors, fresh goods, and a welcoming space to connect with neighbors. It’s a simple way to enjoy a spring morning and support local farmers and vendors of color. PLUS the first 50 customers get a free strawberry plant!

Grace House Open House This Sunday from 11:30am-12:30pm | Join us to explore Grace House, enjoy light refreshments, and connect with members of the task force. Learn more about the ongoing work, ask questions, and share your ideas as we imagine how this space can serve our congregation and community. Stop by after the service and be part of the conversation!
| Did you Donate a Lily this Year? | Lilies are available to be picked up from the Fellowship Hall on Sunday morning as you join us for worship. | Easter Potluck Thank You | Thank you to all who helped make the Easter Brunch so special! From bringing your favorite dish to sharing in fellowship, it was a joyful way to celebrate together. Click here to revisit the morning in photos. A special thank you to Kathy Pittman and Kathy Peterson for organizing the morning and to Barb Tippin for capturing the celebration in photos. | Grace House Parking Lot Repaving April 14-16 | During this time, the lot will be closed for repaving, so we kindly ask everyone to park in other available lots from Tuesday, April 14-Thursday, April 16. Thank you for your flexibility and patience as we take care of this improvement to help make the lot smoother and safer for everyone! | |
Living Your Faith in Everyday Life | What does it look like to live out your faith beyond Sunday morning? Beginning April 19 at 8:30am, join us for a new Sunday School course, “Practicing Lutheranism,” focused on putting faith into practice in daily life:
- Organizing the Day: Hearing God’s Word and responding in faith.
- Organizing the Week: Faithful stewardship of time.
- Growing as a Disciple: Where faith, hope, and love are nurtured.
- Growing as a Person: Living a moral life shaped by Christ.
- Callings in Relationships: Marriage, family, and friendships.
- Callings in the World: Work and public life.
Whether you’re a new or longtime Lutheran, join us for this meaningful next step.
| Property Work Day | We will be hosting a Spring Property Work Day on Saturday, April 18, starting at 9:30am. For more information or questions, reach out to Kathy Peterson at resource@gracedurham.org or call/text 919-641-8267. | |
Duke Lutherans Prayer Service & Picnic | You are invited to join the Duke Lutherans for a beloved tradition on Sunday, April 19, at 5:30pm as we gather in Duke Gardens for the final Evening Prayer of the year and to bless those who are graduating.
You're welcome to bring a dish to share for the potluck picnic or just come as you are! Location: Fisher Amphitheater (marked H4 on this map:
https://gardens.duke.edu/visit/gardens-map/) If it rains, we'll meet at the Duke Lutherans Center instead. Hope to see you on April 19!
| Youth and Children's Partner Ministry | Grace is excited to be partnering with Advent Lutheran Church in Chapel Hill to begin new Youth and Children's Ministries. These ministries will reach kids from pre-K through high school. We invite all families to join! This first gathering is at Advent (230 Erwin Rd Chapel Hill, NC 27514) on April 19 at 4:30pm and a light dinner will be provided. We will focus on getting to know one another and learning what you, as the parents and children in our churches, would like to see in regards to youth and children's ministries. If you have any questions, contact dco.anna.voelker@gracedurham.org. | |
Wednesdays at One: April 29 | Save the date for our next Wednesdays at One on April 29, featuring a fascinating presentation by Ingrid Daubechies, “Reunited: The Ghissi Altarpiece.”
We’ll gather for a potluck lunch at 12:30pm, followed by Ingrid’s engaging talk on a fourteenth-century Italian altarpiece, its conservation, and how scholars have worked to understand its creation through modern reconstruction.
Please RSVP here and bring a dish to share if you’re able.

| Nominations for Grace Advisory Board Are Open | This May, elections will be held for President, Vice President, and Congregation Representative, as the current leaders complete their two-year terms. Per our Bylaws, any voting member may submit a nomination. Please send nominations by Friday, May 15, so they can be included in the voters’ meeting packets on Sunday, May 17. If you have any questions or would like to submit a name, please contact Barb Silvernail at vicepresident@gracedurham.org. | Discipleship Practices for April | As we continue growing in our life together in Christ, our Discipleship Committee invites you into two simple practices of faith. Who’s Your One? encourages you to pray daily for one person in your life, asking God to open doors for care and witness. At the same time, you are invited to follow and participate in our 30 Days of Hope Campaign on Facebook and Instagram—daily reminders of the hope we have in Jesus.
