-The Latest News-

New Discussion Group on Luther's Large Catechism | All are invited to join us at 9am this Sunday, August 10, in the Bethlehem Resource Room as we begin a discussion of Luther's Large Catechism. We will be using the study guide Lutheran Confessions: Luther's Catechisms Study Guide from Concordia Publishing House. The topic will take a few weeks for us to cover- feel free to take part anytime.

Grace Advisory Board Meeting This Sunday | The next Grace Advisory Board (GAB) is this Sunday at 11:30am in the downstairs kitchen. Anyone who wishes to attend is welcome. We’ll begin with a time of sharing and devotion, then review board and ministry reports before moving into old and new business. New items will include planning topics for an upcoming retreat and the 2026 budgeting process.

Help Paint Pastor’s Office This Weekend | Join us August 8–10 as we patch, prime, and paint Pastor’s office. We are looking for 2–4 volunteers each day—come for a few hours or as long as you can. All tools are provided; just bring your painting clothes. Contact Kathy Peterson at 919-641-8267 or resource@gracelutheranchurch.net to lend a hand.

Visit Our Farmers Market This Weekend | Grace Community Farmers Market is excited to welcome a new vendor for this Saturday- Fizzed Up! Fizzed Up is an up and coming Dirty Soda Bar based in Durham. Be sure to stop by on August 9 from 1-4pm to find out more, as well as to pick up fresh produce, meats, baked goods, etc. You are also invited to join us for a Mini Market in the downstairs kitchen after worship on Sunday, August 10th. To help out at the market, click here.

Learn How to Protect Yourself from Scams Wednesday, August 27 |  Wednesdays at One continues on August 27 with a speaker and potluck lunch. Sarah Welsch, Outreach Specialist from the Public Protection Section of the NC Department of Justice Attorney General's Office, will discuss scams that target people through phone calls, texts, and online messages. She’ll also share tips for safeguarding your personal and financial information, and offer helpful resources from the Consumer Protection Division. Bring a dish to share and learn how to stay safe and informed. Lunch starts at 12pm with the presentation following at 1pm.

Bringing the Gift of Sight | The LWML would like to thank the congregation for donating 37 pairs of eyeglasses and sunglasses to MOST Ministries. Your contributions will help bring clearer vision—and brighter days—to people around the world. Thank you for making a difference through your generosity!

Would You Rather Results Are In |  Our latest Would You Rather poll unearthed a clear favorite: 14 voters would rather find archaeological evidence proving a biblical event, while only 2 were eager to discover a lost book of the Bible. These results suggest a strong interest in tangible, historical connections to Scripture—highlighting how the physical remnants of the past continue to inspire faith and curiosity in the present.
