Property Work Day This Saturday | We will be hosting a Spring Property Work Day this Saturday, April 18, starting at 9am (we'll be starting a little earlier than originally scheduled to beat the heat!) One of our focuses will be repainting the black railings, so wear your "best" painting clothes. Drinks, snacks, and lunch will be provided. New Class Begins this Sunday! | What does it look like to live out your faith beyond Sunday morning? Beginning this Sunday at 8:30am in the Fellowship Hall, join us for a new course, “Practicing Lutheranism,” focused on putting faith into practice in daily life:

• Organizing the Day: Hearing God’s Word and responding in faith.
• Organizing the Week: Faithful stewardship of time.
• Growing as a Disciple: Where faith, hope, and love are nurtured.
• Growing as a Person: Living a moral life shaped by Christ.
• Callings in Relationships: Marriage, family, and friendships.
• Callings in the World: Work and public life.

Whether you’re new to Lutheranism or a longtime member, consider this meaningful next step in living out your faith.

Duke Lutherans Prayer Service & Picnic | You are invited to join the Duke Lutherans for a beloved tradition this Sunday, April 19, at 5:30pm as we gather in Duke Gardens for the final Evening Prayer of the year and to bless those who are graduating.

You're welcome to bring a dish to share for the potluck picnic or just come as you are!

Youth and Children's Partner Ministry This Sunday | Grace is excited to be partnering with Advent Lutheran Church in Chapel Hill to begin new Youth and Children's Ministries. These ministries will reach kids from pre-K through high school. We invite all families to join! The first gathering is at Advent (230 Erwin Rd Chapel Hill, NC 27514) this Sunday, April 19, at 4:30pm and a light dinner will be provided. Wednesdays at One: April 29

The Ghissi Altarpiece is a 14th-century Italian tempera and gold leaf masterpiece by Francescuccio Ghissi, depicting the Crucifixion flanked by scenes from the life of St. John the Evangelist. Dismantled in the 19th century and scattered across US museums, the panels were digitally reunited and physically brought together in a 2016-2017 North Carolina Museum of Art exhibition.

We'll gather at 12:30pm on Wednesday, April 29, for a potluck lunch, followed by an engaging talk on the altarpiece and how it was reconstructed by Ingrid Daubechie, James B. Duke Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, at 1pm.

May Intentional Invite

Grace is continuing our monthly intentional invite initiative with a Picnic in the Park on Saturday, May 2, starting at 11am. Consider who it is God is calling you to invite this month and forward them this invitation as we enjoy time together outdoors.

Summer Grounds Crew | As the weather warms up, we’re setting up a rotation for mowing and trimming the church lawn. It’s an easy, flexible way to spend some time outdoors and care for the space we share. If this sounds like something you’d enjoy (once or a few times, solo or with a friend), click here to let us know!

Grace House Parking Repaving | The repaving of the Grace House parking lot has been rescheduled for Friday, April 17-Saturday, April 18. It will be open and available to use Sunday morning.

New Scam Emails Circulating | New "remote invite" scam emails are spreading rapidly, often appearing as party or event invitations that, when clicked, install malware or give hackers remote access to computers. These phishing attempts steal passwords, bank credentials, and personal information. Avoid clicking links or downloading files from unexpected or unverified invitations, even if they appear to come from friends. If a friend sends a suspicious invite, contact them directly through another channel to confirm they sent it. Click here to see an example of what the email may look like.
