This Sunday is Lutheran Women in Mission Sunday | This Sunday, Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) Quilts will be displayed in the sanctuary and there will be an opportunity to enter a drawing for a special quilt (shown here). The LWML supports global and local ministries through prayer, service, and mission grants. Most of the quilts made this year will be sent to Lutheran World Relief for distribution around the world. To make a donation and enter the drawing (100% of donations go to LWML Mites), use the envelope that will be in the bulletin on October 5 and 12. Make checks payable to Grace Lutheran Church with "LWML" in memo line. Cash also accepted (please also note it will go towards "LWML"). Entry deadline: October 12. Drawing: October 15.

Along with this transition, our new office hours will be: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. We are grateful for Kim’s dedication and look forward to the many ways this will bless our ministry.

Mission Opportunity | We are exploring the possibility of sending a short-term team to Puerto Rico in 2026 to serve alongside the Maita family, missionaries Grace has supported for years. The trip would last about a week, giving you the chance to experience the Lutheran Mission in Puerto Rico, share the Gospel, and see firsthand how God is working globally. Dates are still to be determined, but first we’d like to know who is interested. If you’d like to be considered, please complete the paper form on Sunday (found in the pews and placed in the offering plate) or click here to fill out a short Google form.

What are The New Icons? | The icons that are now pictured next to the class listings refer to different stops along Grace's Discipleship Pathway, launched on September 21. For more information, visit gracedurham.org/faithresources.

Ministry of the Month: What is Stephen Ministry All About? |

Stephen Ministers are lay congregation members trained to provide one-to-one care to those experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or relocation.

Stephen Ministers come from all walks of life, but they all share a passion for bringing Christ’s love and care to people during a time of need. A Stephen Minister typically has one care receiver at a time and meets with that person once a week to listen, care, pray, encourage, and offer emotional and spiritual support.

Currently Grace has five Stephen Ministers, and we are looking to train more. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, contact Joe Wethman (joeweth62@gmail.com) or Joyce Rea (jhrea95@gmail.com).
