-The Latest News-

Save the Date | for a very exciting morning for Grace Lutheran Church! On Sunday, September 14, we will celebrate the Commission/Installation of Deaconess Anna Voelker as Director of Christian Outreach. Praise God for His faithful provision and for calling Anna to serve among us in this ministry.

Pastor's Office Refresh Update | The painting is complete—big thanks to Sally, Karen, Joe W., Noah, and Kathy! With their help, we’re on track to have the new flooring installed the week of August 18. A team of five strong volunteers moved the solid cherry desk to Deaconess Anna’s office, where it will enjoy its “next best life.”

Stop by to see the progress! We’d love your help assembling the new office furniture—contact Kathy Peterson at 919-641-8267 if you’d like to lend a hand.

Looking ahead: In September, we’ll host an outdoor workday to spruce up the church grounds. God bless!

Town Hall Meeting August 31 |  Join the Grace Advisory Board for a Town Hall Meeting on Sunday, August 31, immediately following worship in the Fellowship Hall. This is an exciting time where we will brainstorm ideas for ministry opportunities, utilization of the Grace House, and plans for the remaining Capital Campaign funds. Your input is vital for shaping our church's future!

Duke Lutherans Sunday Night Dinners |  Thank you so much to everyone who has fed our beloved Duke Lutherans through the years. New sign-up slots are now available for the fall semester- click here to help provide dinner for 15–20 Duke Lutheran students this semester. You bring the food (including one vegetarian main); we supply everything else. Arrive at 5:15pm for set-up, Evening Prayer is at 5:30pm, and dinner follows at 6:30pm. Questions? Contact Pastor Amanda at 612-418-4192 or amanda.highben@duke.edu.

A Taste of Scripture |  Looking for a meaningful way to kick off your week? Join us on Mondays at 11:30am for Brown Bag Bible Study—a relaxed time to share lunch and explore the Scripture readings for the coming Sunday.

This is a great opportunity for us to learn from one another and enjoy good conversation around God’s Word in a relaxed environment. So pack your lunch, bring your curiosity, and join the table.

Learn How to Protect Yourself from Scams Wednesday, August 27 |  Enjoy a potluck lunch at noon, then hear Sarah Welsch from the NC Department of Justice share how to spot scams, protect your information, and access helpful resources. Presentation begins at 1pm. Interested? Click here to RSVP.

Fizzed Up Debuts at Grace Community Farmers Market |  Alexis, owner and creator of "Fizzed Up" Dirty Soda Bar, launched her new business at our very own Farmers Market! "We are so blessed and so grateful for this opportunity," she said with a big, beautiful smile on her face. What is a Dirty Soda? It's a soda base with added flavors such as syrups, purees, or creams. Alexis offers a variety of predesigned or custom soda creations. You can also choose a base of water, lemonade or juice. Fizzed Up will be back for the rest of the market season.
