-The Latest News-

Commissioning & Installation of Deaconess Anna Voelker | On Sunday, September 14, Grace Lutheran Church will celebrate a very special milestone in the life of our congregation. During worship, we will join together in the Commissioning and Installation of Deaconess Anna Voelker, Director of Christian Outreach. Following the service, everyone is invited to a reception in the Fellowship Hall. Please come and share in this joyful occasion as we welcome and celebrate Anna’s ministry at Grace.

A Fresh Welcome Back for Pastor’s Office |  When Pastor returned from his August sabbatical, he was welcomed back to a newly updated and refreshed office space! Thanks to the care and effort of many hands, the office was renovated to create a more comfortable, welcoming, and functional place for ministry and conversation.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed time, skills, and resources to this project. Your work is a blessing to Pastor and to the whole congregation as we continue to grow in faith and community together.

Ministry of the Month |  This month we begin a new series spotlighting the many ministries that shape life at Grace. Our first focus is the Altar Guild, whose work prepares the sanctuary for worship each Sunday—placing linens, filling candles, and arranging communion with care. This ministry may be behind the scenes, but it is essential to our worship. Many members describe it as a privilege that draws them closer to God.

If you’d like to learn more, visit the bulletin board by the restrooms or contact the church office at office@gracelutheranchurch.net or 919-682-6030.

Racial Reconciliation Planning Meeting |  Several years ago, the Racial Reconciliation Group was formed at Grace. Over that time, we've hosted movie nights, had discussion and fellowship with our neighbor church St John's, studied and learned about racial issues, and initiated the continuing Farmers' Markets. This Sunday, we will meet to decide on future events and initiatives for this group. All are welcome to attend following worship in the Bethlehem Resource Room.

The Lutheran Witness 2026 Subscriptions Available | Do you currently subscribe to The Lutheran Witness—or would you like to start? Subscriptions for 2026 are $22, with orders due by October 5.
