Rabbi's Reminders

Hurricane Relief Efforts-

A message from Rabbi Jonathan.

Please help the American Red Cross -- or any other relief organization of your choice -- address the devastation from Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Whether or not we have friends and acquaintances in those affected areas, we can help by our largess. Thank you.

Yom Kippur Collection for JFCS

Thank you for all of the donations you brought to us on Yom Kippur, and since then to the Temple. What a beautiful outpouring of support! We will be gathering items throughout October at the Temple.

Temple Emanuel's Annual Yom Kippur Drive to benefit Jewish Family and Children's Service (JFCS) is (still) collecting, to fill a different need this year.

Jewish Family & Children's Service (JFCS) was fortunate to receive a grant for non-perishable food this year, so they are instead asking for donations of personal hygiene items and cleaning supplies. Click the blue links to see lists and directions.

High Holy Days 5785 Appeal

Please click here to make or fulfill your High Holy Days 5785 Appeal pledge. We are so grateful for your continued support.

Spotlight on Volunteers

Our Temple would not be the vibrant community it is without the efforts of our volunteers ... too numerous to mention all at once.

In this week's edition, let's thank:

Sue Dermer and Kathy Coven for tidying up our High Holy Days items brought back from Dayspring

Our MOE Sukkah builders, our Sukkah decorators, and our Programming Committee for a beautiful Sukkot

Sisterhood and MOE for stargazing in the Sukkah

Aaron Baumann for providing beautiful music for our Sukkot worship service

Georgia Baumann for collaborating on and supporting programs for families with young children

Brandon Bagley for supporting the office with our High Holy Days Appeal management

Watch this space for more honorees, and be sure to let us know if we have missed a mitzvah!

Volunteer Opportunities

Host an Oneg Shabbat!

Our Temple Emanuel Oneg Shabbat dessert receptions are opportunities for our community to come together and enjoy the sweetness of Shabbat with conversation and refreshments every Friday after services.

We invite you to sponsor an Oneg Shabbat in honor of your family and friends. Gather your friends, Chavurot, social groups, committees, clubs, or family to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, weddings, graduations, new babies, a loved one’s accomplishments, or any happy occasion - or just to celebrate being alive!

It is a wonderful way to celebrate any special occasion with your Temple Emanuel community!
