Important Announcements

Starting in February, the weekly events newsletter will transition to a monthly newsletter.

During our search for a new Managing Director, we will be utilizing volunteers to assist with many of the Director tasks, including newsletters/marketing. So that we can continue to bring you informative communications, the weekly events newsletter will move to a monthly edition as of February 1st.

Stay tuned for more information regarding this transition and timelines for newsletter submission requests. Thank you for your support!

End of Year Tax Considerations

As the year is quickly coming to an end, there are a couple of things that you can think about to help Temple Emanuel of Tempe and not cost you anything extra.

We have partnered with the East Valley JCC through their East Valley JCC Qualified Charitable Organization and Temple Emanuel will receive an 18% grant of the amount donated back to us for us to use toward our expenses. For Temple Emanuel of Tempe to be eligible for the grant, donate below or write “Tax Credit Code TE” on the memo line of your check.

These are tax credits, not a deduction off your income. If you donate $938, you get $938 directly off your AZ State Income Tax Bill!

Click the link to get all the information:

https://www.evjcc.org/emanuel/

Special offer for members of Temple Emanuel of Tempe*

For every tax credit donation to the East Valley JCC Qualified Charitable Organization, Temple Emanuel of Tempe will receive an incentive grant equal to 18%.

$18 grant for $100 Tax Credit donation

$36 grant for $200 Tax Credit donation

$84.60 grant for $470 Tax Credit donation

$168.84 grant for $938 Tax Credit donation

Your donations help our community at no cost to you.

100% of the funds collected enrich the lives of people in the community.

To be eligible for the grant, donate at link above, or write “Tax Credit Code TE” on the memo line of your check, and issue & mail your check directly to EVJCC.

Required Minimum Distributions (RMD)

Another way to help is for those who are old enough to be required to take required minimum distributions (RMD) from their IRA’s. Those distributions are taxable at the highest bracket that the individual is in, but if part or all the RMD is donated to a Qualified Charitable Organization, the amount distributed is not taxed, up to $105,000 per tax year – you are not placed in a higher tax bracket. The IRA assets go directly to the charity, so donors don't report Qualified Charitable Donations (QCDs) as taxable income and don't owe any taxes on the QCD, even if they do not itemize deductions. Please ask your IRA custodian or tax advisor for guidance to be assured that the funds will be transferred in accordance with IRS regulations.

Temple Emanuel 2024 Year-End Donor Statements

We will be emailing Tax Year 2024 Donor Statements in January, by request only.  Please email Finance to request your statement, with subject line "2024 Donor Statement". Please indicate whether you would prefer to receive a paper copy in the mail, vs. an emailed version. We are happy to accommodate your request.

If you’d like to make an additional gift for the tax year ending December 31, 2024, please make your gift online, or provide a check to the office by Tuesday, December 31. As long as your check is dated and/or the donation is postmarked no later than December 31, it is included in your year-end statement.

Thank you for your support of our community in 2024. Your tax-deductible gifts are deeply appreciated.

In addition to monetary donations, we can accept donations of stock or vehicles (avoid the hassle of selling your used vehicle!).
