This Week's Blogs

A Direct Line: Did you know credit unions have limitations on providing benefits or perks to their board members? NCUA and the State Credit Union Act have strict regulations on compensating directors, prohibiting benefits that regular members do not also receive. Check out this week's blog to learn more about the rules and limitations on board member compensation.

Consumer Blog: Think of the last time you argued with your partner. Chances are, it was about money; about one-third of couples report finances as a source of "significant conflict" in their relationship. But it doesn't have to be that way. This week's consumer blog covers six ways you and your partner can better navigate ⛵ your finances.

THE #CUDIFFERENCE

As the presenting sponsor of this year’s Saturday Live in Billings, Altana FCU was proud to play a key role in the event's success! Altana's team was heavily involved in promoting the event, and Heidi Davey, Altana FCU Experience Manager, em-ceed and kept the energy high throughout the day.

Credit union employees stepped up to volunteer —running a ticket booth and hosting a new crowd-favorite 360 video booth. Of course, the famous ice cream bus was on hand to add extra fun to the day. The Billings Education Foundation projects over $60,000 in funds raised this year! That's the #CUDifference!

PARTING SHOT

Meet Beth - part of our Meet the Staff podcast series

Welcome to Week Two of our “Meet the Staff” podcast. This week’s podcast features Beth.

Here's an introduction: Beth Satre, CUDE, functions as the data hub at Montana’s Credit Unions. She oversees MCU’s data collection and the technical side of the website. If you want to subscribe to one of our publications, would like access to MCU’s website, or have a question about grammar (or Adobe software), give her a call.

In her free time, Beth hangs out with her family and friends, volunteers for various non-profits, and works on her photography and design skills. She loves the outdoors, often has her nose in a book, and is always ready to engage in a good conversation about credit unions, cooperatives, or, well, just about anything.

Here is what I really appreciate about Beth. She knows our credit unions intimately and is a wealth of knowledge across the state. She is a “go-to” person within our team, keeping us up to date on technology as well as key happenings within our credit unions. When Beth and I brainstorm on ways to better serve our credit unions, watch out — we are known for going down a lot of rabbit holes with ideas! Listen to the podcast, and then reach out and thank Beth for her service to Montana’s Credit Unions and her commitment to each of you!
