School Traffic Safety Guide

The Spring Grove Police Department has recently received complaints regarding traffic violations and vehicles not following the drop-off and pick-up procedures outlined in the school’s traffic safety guide.

For the safety of our students, staff, and families, we are reminding all drivers to follow the established procedures, including:

• Enter from the east side of Main Street and exit on the west side.

• Remain in your vehicle while in the drop-off/pick-up line.

• Use right-side loading only so children enter and exit onto the sidewalk.

• Do not block Main Street or obstruct the normal flow of traffic.

• Follow all no-parking and designated parking restrictions.

• Observe the cell-phone-free zone while on school grounds.

• Follow designated drop-off and pick-up times and the directions of school supervisors.

Please be advised that the Police Department will be actively enforcing traffic laws during school drop-off and pick-up hours. Enforcement will include, but is not limited to, improper stopping or standing in the roadway, improper U-turns, blocking or obstructing traffic, and other violations that impede the safe and efficient flow of traffic.

Drivers who violate traffic laws or posted restrictions may be subject to citations or other enforcement action.

We ask everyone to plan accordingly, allow extra time, remain patient, and follow the procedures provided by the school. These guidelines are in place to keep our children safe and ensure traffic moves as efficiently as possible.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to student safety.

Respectfully,

Chief Mike Niedzwiecki

They include real case details scraped from the County’s online streaming of meetings to make the messages look legitimate. This is happening in several communities in the area. Find more information from McHenry County here.
