Did you know you can recycle up to six electronic items at a time at no additional charge (except for TVs which are $15 each). You must call Groot at 800-244-1977 to schedule a pick-up, which are done on Mondays. Electronics include computers, monitors, keyboards, electronic mice, video game consoles, printers, scanners, digital converter boxes, cable & satellite receivers, fax machines, cassette recorders, video disc players, recorders & more.

Read to the Dog at Nippersink Library

Blast from the Past
In the days before Spring Lakes Sand & Gravel, there was the Atlas Molding Sand & Gravel Company. This picture postcard is dated circa 1912. In the background you can see the large ice house that was on Hatchery Road. There are also train cars on the tracks in front of the dairy building probably waiting to collect milk. Downtown Spring Grove can be made out at the upper right of the photo. This was way before Route 12 was constructed, so there is no Jewel, Walgreens or other businesses to block the view. Old maps show a railroad spur ran south to this area to pick up the sand and gravel.
