Groot Reminders
Groot is continuing to pick up garbage, recycling and landscape waste , but bulk collections have been suspended at this time.

Additionally, if you have someone in your household infected with COVID-19 or showing symptoms, please bag your recycling and throw them in your garbage can, not the recycling bin. This will help keep Groot employees who physically sort recyclables from getting the virus.

Blast from the Past
This is a circa late-1920s First Communion or Confirmation class at St. Peter Church located at 2118 Main Street. The Bishop from the Rockford Diocese stands in back holding a Bishop's staff. This was the original church, built in 1901. The exterior and interior were completely remodeled in 1948. Thanks goes to Joan Popelka for sharing this and other old images of Spring Grove!
