Shared Planet "Forests"
From Borneo to Guatemala, people are reshaping how we live and work in forests while still coexisting with wildlife. In Borneo, efforts are underway to plant native trees within palm oil plantations, creating wildlife corridors for orangutan families to travel in the treetops. In Guatemala, a community forestry organization sustainably harvests trees, protecting habitats like those of the highly endangered scarlet macaws.

This week, Scott Simon regals us with tales about tails! The NPR legend has a new book "Ulysses S. Cat and Other Animals I Have Known" chronicling a lifetime of remarkable relationships with pets.
Also: We'll sit down with Yaniv Segal, Orchestra Indiana's Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, ahead of the final concert of their current season. That show will open with his original composition “…the light that breathes…” We'll celebrate Mother's Day in the U.S. with "The Inside of Bones"—a Beautiful Thing from Kelly McMasters. And, our usual "WAYWO" and Arts Calendar check-ins!

Downton Abbey returns to PBS!
The Crawleys are back! Downton Abbey — the beloved MASTERPIECE series and most popular PBS drama of all time — returns this spring, with all six seasons available to stream with PBS Passport. Broadcasts of Seasons 1-3 are scheduled on Sunday evenings: Season 1 from May 17 to June 7, Season 2 from June 14 to July 26, and Season 3 from August 2 to September 13, 2026, beginning at 10 p.m. on PBS, PBS.org and the PBS app. Seasons 4-6 will air in 2027.
