Kia Ora,
Welcome to our latest newsletter, your ultimate source for all the latest updates and insights into the dynamic world of New Zealand immigration. Sit back, relax, grab a cup of coffee, and delve into the wealth of knowledge that my team and I have curated just for you.
You may already be aware that the New Zealand government has recently announced the highly anticipated new streamlined Skilled Migrant Category (SMC) Resident Visa policy, which will take effect in October 2023. In my article, I have covered the skilled residence pathways that will enable you to live permanently in New Zealand. This policy requires holding a skilled job or having a job offer from an accredited employer. The good news is, there is no limit on the number of applicants who can claim residence.
Furthermore, the government has made changes to the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV). There are now limits on the continuous stay of applicants holding this visa. Unfortunately, those who do not meet the immigration requirements must leave New Zealand for 12 months before applying for another AEWV. On a positive note, the maximum visa duration for the AEWV will be extended from 3 years to 5 years, starting from November 2023.
To make it easier for you to understand these upcoming changes, I have included videos and blogs in this newsletter that provide more information.
In addition to these updates, the Government has also announced changes to the work rights of partners of some work visa holders. If you missed my webinar on this topic, don't worry. You can watch the recording below and submit any questions you have.
Many people visit New Zealand for business or work purposes, but it's important to know the difference between a business visit and working in New Zealand. Applying for the wrong visa category can result in your application being rejected and you missing your business appointment. To avoid disappointment, I have included a guide to getting a Business Visitor Visa for New Zealand.
Meanwhile, New Zealand continues to be a top destination for studying abroad. New Zealand universities have once again climbed the world ranking table. If you dream of studying in New Zealand, gathering the right documents for a Student Visa can feel overwhelming. Understanding the complex visa document checklists provided by Immigration New Zealand (INZ) is not easy for everyone. That's why I have included a first-time student visa checklist guide for international students who wish to study here. Some popular courses among international students include the Master of Applied Business, Diploma in Construction, Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Highways), and Diploma in Community Healthcare & Support.
