Incentives for your Business

The City of Brampton offers various financial incentives to employers and developers targeting office employment and complementary uses within key sectors such as health and life sciences, innovation and technology and advanced manufacturing.   


  • The Community Improvement Program (CIP), for example, offers a 10-year Tax Increment Equivalent Grant (TIEG) to offset property taxes for office developments.   
  • In addition, the Development Charges (DC) bylaw exempts any office uses that are either freestanding or part of a mixed-use development from the City’s portion of DCs.

Albea $9M Expansion - Green Leaf Packaging 

In October, the Invest Brampton team, Mayor Patrick Brown, and Councillors Rod Power and Chair of Economic Development Gurpartap Singh Toor celebrated the launch of Albéa Group's $9 million state-of-the-art plastic extrusion line. This Brampton facility now offers fully recyclable "green leaf" packaging and proudly features a “Made in Brampton” label for products distributed across North America, Australia, and China. Congratulations to Jerzy Debski, Bruno de Carvalho Tapajos, and the Albéa team on this incredible milestone!

MDA Space Secures $1B Canadarm3 Contract

On June 27, Brampton-based MDA Space Ltd. announced a $1 billion contract from the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) for the next phases of the Canadarm3 program. This cutting-edge space robotics system will play a critical role aboard Gateway, a NASA-led international space station in lunar orbit, supporting future human and robotic missions to the Moon’s surface.

Fueling Innovation: Brampton Innovation District Startups Secure Millions in Funding 

The City of Brampton is driving downtown revitalization by fostering an innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem. This year, startups from the Brampton Innovation District achieved significant milestones in funding: 

  • Phaseshift Technologies: Raised $3M in seed funding for its AI-powered Rapid Alloy Design (RAD) platform. A graduate of BHive, Brampton's international accelerator. 
  • Fibra: Secured $1.3M in seed funding for its wearable fertility technology. A graduate of Brampton Venture Zone. 
  • Tenomix: Received a $500K grant for its robotic scanning device that transforms the lymph node search process. A graduate of Brampton Venture, a non-equity incubator.

Empowering Innovation: Talent Development at BramHacks 2024 

The City of Brampton and the Invest Brampton team hosted BramHacks 2024, a city-wide hackathon that brought together 150 talented post-secondary students from across the GTHA. From November 8 to 10, participants collaborated to address local challenges, creating innovative solutions that could shape Brampton’s future. This inspiring event showcased the creativity and potential within our community.

MULTIVAC Canada proudly recognized Martin Bohl, Sector Manager for Food Processing, Logistics, and MedTech with the City of Brampton, as an external Brand Ambassador for his exceptional promotion of MULTIVAC Canada. 


During the visit to MULTIVAC's Brampton Innovation Centre, Martin shared valuable insights on the food industry, highlighting Brampton's commitment to supporting businesses and its reputation as home to outstanding employers in the sector.

LEAP: Leading Equity, Advancement and Partnership in the Workplace

Invest Brampton and the Brampton Board of Trade hosted the inaugural "LEAP" (Leading Equity, Advancement, and Potential) in the Workforce event — a fantastic day focused on creating sustainable and inclusive talent pathways. Keynote speaker Bradley L. highlighted how Skills Council of Canada is enhancing skilled trades education in Brampton, including partnerships with Judith Nyman Secondary School.

The Sixth Annual Sponsorship Forum at The Rose celebrated the growth of Brampton's Sponsorship Program, which has partnered with over 50 businesses to support more than 50 programs, events and initiatives. The MedTech Conference

In October, the Invest Brampton team exhibited at the global MedTech Conference in Toronto, hosted in Canada for the first time. With over 4,000 attendees from 48 countries and 1,900+ exhibitors, the event provided an excellent platform to connect with potential investors, researchers and companies like Medtronic Canada and The Stevens Company. 


Deputy Mayor Singh and Chair of Economic Development, Councillor Toor lead a panel showcasing Brampton Innovation District start-ups Roga, Tenomix and Vivo. Founders shared their journeys, challenges and successes in Brampton’s growing medtech ecosystem, impressing international participants from Japan, Germany, Australia and beyond.
