All Hands On Deck for the Woodbridge Community Clean-up

It was all hands on deck for the Woodbridge Community Clean-up! Our Cal-Waste team was out in the community collecting bulky items and helping keep Woodbridge clean, organized, and safe.

This special collection event gave residents the opportunity to dispose of larger household items that do not fit inside regular carts, including furniture, carpet, mattresses, clothing beyond reuse, and electronics.

Events like this take teamwork, and we are proud to serve the Woodbridge community.

Tackling Big Projects Over the Summer?

Rent a Handy Hauler for Your Next Clean-up Project

If you have more material than the Woodbridge Community Clean-up can take, Cal-Waste Handy Haulers are a convenient option. Available in 3.5- or 5-cubic-yard sizes, Handy Haulers are perfect for larger home clean-ups, yard projects, or small renovation jobs.

One simple price includes delivery, removal, and disposal of almost anything you can fit inside (pricing varies by size), making it an easy solution when your clean-up grows beyond the curbside limit.

Woodbridge Elementary's SDC Activity Class

In April, our Cal-Waste Education Team visited Woodbridge Elementary’s SDC classroom for a hands-on recycling lesson with students.

During the visit, students learned what materials belong in each container through an interactive recycling presentation. To continue the lesson, the class reused old toilet paper rolls as planters to grow wheatgrass, showing how everyday items can be given a second life. Students also created recycling-themed buttons to take home as a reminder of what they learned.

This activity gave students the opportunity to learn about recycling, reuse, and sustainability in a fun and creative way. Cal-Waste is proud to support local classrooms with education that helps inspire the next generation to care for their community and the environment.

Woodbridge, Let's Talk Summer Waste

Hey Woodbridge residents! Summer is here, and we know that means more time outdoors, grilling with friends, enjoying fireworks, and getting your yards in shape. With all the summer fun comes extra waste, and we want to help you sort it properly.

Here is a quick guide to help you handle some of the most common summertime items so we can all do our part to keep Woodbridge clean and safe.

Fireworks

Used fireworks should never go in the recycling or organics. Once they are completely used, soak them in water overnight, place them in a sealed plastic bag, and toss them in the trash. This is the safest way to help prevent accidents and protect our drivers.

Drip Lines and Sprinkler Parts

Working on your yard this summer? Items like broken drip lines, hoses, and sprinkler heads are not recyclable, even if they are plastic. These items belong in the trash to help prevent damage to sorting equipment.

Quick Reminder

When in doubt, throw it out! If you are not sure whether an item is recyclable, it is better to place it in the trash than risk contaminating your recycling bin.

Thanks for helping us keep Woodbridge beautiful this summer! For questions about proper disposal, download the Cal-Waste mobile app to learn how to properly dispose of items.

Replacing Your Old Pool Cover?

Remember, pool covers do not belong in your recycling cart.

When it is time to dispose of it, roll it up and place it in your trash cart.

Thank you for helping keep our recycling stream clean!
