Northeast Texas continues to grow and adapt, creating new opportunities for both individuals and businesses. At Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas, our focus is on helping people gain the skills they need, supporting students as they explore career pathways, assisting employers in building strong teams, and ensuring our region remains competitive in a changing economy.
We are deeply grateful for the many partners across Northeast Texas who make this work possible. Every day, we see employers, educators, community leaders, and service providers coming together with a shared purpose—to strengthen opportunities for individuals and businesses alike. The progress we celebrate as a region is a direct result of these collaborations, and we are proud to work alongside such dedicated partners who are driving meaningful impact in our communities.
This inaugural edition of our newsletter highlights key initiatives, training opportunities, and success stories from across our nine counties. We recently had the chance to work with hundreds of high school students through our SPARK event and another round of Teacher Externships helped align classroom learning with real word application. Workforce programs remain dedicated to helping job seekers achieve their goals, and each Success Story reflects just a small part of the difference we're making in our communities. Finally, I invite you to join us at the 14th annual Hiring Red White and YOU Event in November.

In partnership with Texas A&M University–Texarkana and Red River Credit Union, Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas proudly hosted SPARK — a program designed to help high school students prepare for their futures.
More than 600 students from area high schools participated in a day filled with exploration and growth:
- Financial Literacy Workshops equipping students with practical money management skills.
- Career Conversations with local employers, offering real-world insights into career opportunities across industries.
- Campus Tours at Texas A&M University–Texarkana, inspiring students to envision their next steps in higher education.

This summer, Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas hosted the Teacher Externship Program, giving local educators the chance to step outside the classroom and spend time with area employers.
Over the course of five days, teachers learned firsthand about workplace operations, skill needs, and career pathways. The insights gained will flow back into classrooms, helping students better understand the skills and training necessary for success in today’s workforce.
By connecting teachers and businesses, we are building stronger links between education and employment in our region.
Since 2021, 73 teachers have completed Externships in Northeast Texas.

| | Delivering Results: Program Success Spotlight | | |
At just 19, Rylee came to the Workforce Center for support with a Registered Nurse training program. Despite her limited work history, she stayed committed, working part-time throughout the demanding program. WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) provided funding for tuition, books, fees, and transportation.
In May, Rylee graduated with honors and accepted a position as a surgical floor nurse at Longview Regional Medical Center, earning $33.50/hour. Her determination and Workforce support helped launch a promising healthcare career.

Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas is proud to honor those who have served our country by helping connect Veterans, transitioning service members, and their spouses with meaningful career opportunities. The Hiring Red, White & You! Job Fair brings together employers from across the region who are eager to hire skilled and dedicated Veterans. The event is hosted in partnership with the Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Veterans Commission, and the Texas Medical Center. This event is more than a job fair—it’s a chance to support our heroes as they build their next chapter in the civilian workforce.
