Zone 6 Riders Bring Home Medals from USHJA Children's and Adult Amateur Hunter Championships, presented by SmartPak
Our Zone 6 members brought home medals and memories from the USHJA Zones 5 & 6 Children's and Adult Amateur Hunter Championships, presented by SmartPak. Congratulations to all of our members who participated, and special congratulations to our Zone 6 medalists:

Audrey Oldfather Attends EAP Session at HITS Balmoral Park
Congratulations to our Zone 6 member Audrey Oldfather, of Shorewood, Wisconsin, who participated in the Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program Regional Training Session at HITS Balmoral Park in Illinois.

Try a Zone 6 Handy Hunter Challenge this year!
The USHJA Zone 6 Handy Hunter Challenges test skills riders and their horses might use during an enjoyable day of foxhunting combining the elements of flat and over-fences classes. There are several challenges coming up the next couple of months:

  • July 31-Aug. 4, Two Rivers Summer Festival I, Cumming, Iowa
  • Aug. 28-Sept. 1, End of Summer at Quail Run, Elkhorn, Neb.
  • Sept. 11-15, Mid States Fall, Mason City, Iowa
Congratulations to our HQC Stable Challenge Winner
Congratulations to Rae Doerring and Valley Park Stables, winners of the 2019 Horsemanship Quiz Stable Challenge in Zone 6.

The Stable Challenge is designed to engage a trainer's entire barn as a team. At least three students per trainer had to complete the USHJA Horsemanship Quiz Challenge Practice Quiz between June 15 and July 15.

Each of the high scoring trainers will be receiving a USHJA backpack with a brush, hoofpick, and TCP manual; a helmet from Charles Owen; a one-year membership to Equestriancoach.com; a $200 Parlanti gift certificate; a grooming bucket with supplies from Shapley's; a $100 FITS Breeches gift card and a $100 gift card from State Line Tack.
USHJA Zones 5 & 6 Platinum Jumper Championships Results
The USHJA Zones 5 & 6 Platinum Jumper Championships were held this month at HITS Balmoral Park and Zone 6 members participated!

Kim Barone was part of the silver medal combined Zones 5 & 6 team, and Janine Weatherby was part of the bronze medal combined Zones 5 & 6 team. They went on to place fourth and fifth, respectively, in the individual final. Congratulations!

Good Luck to Riders Headed to USEF Pony Finals
USEF Pony Finals, presented by Collecting Gaits Farm are just around the corner and will be held August 6-11 at The Kentucky Horse Park.

Good luck to our riders participating, including riders who will be competing in the USEF Pony Jumper Championships.

Sport History: Fun facts from the USHJA Wheeler Museum
Getting to Know EAP Clinician Cynthia Hankins 

Cynthia Hankins, one of this summer’s clinicians at the Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program Regional Training Sessions, is widely recognized for winning the AHSA Medal finals in 1977 and for her national and international success with jumpers. Did you know that Cynthia’s winning record in the show ring started at a much earlier age? Cynthia took top prize in Leadline at Devon two times, at ages three and four. Her first Medal class win came at age 12 on a 13.2 1/2 hand pony, and she qualified for the Medal and ASPCA Maclay finals that year, finishing fifth in the Maclay. Cynthia’s story was featured in ”Equitation: A Foundation for Life” at the USHJA Wheeler Museum.
