How does your Big Blue Truck donation contribute to Northwest Center? Through success stories like Gabby's:

First, Bayview Retirement Community hired Northwest Center social enterprise OneNorth Integrated Facility Services (OneNorth IFS). Then they embraced disability inclusion by hiring a Northwest Center Employment Services client.

Bayview, a leading senior living center in the Pacific Northwest, was struggling to staff, organize, and track building maintenance services, so CEO

Nancy Weinbeck contacted OneNorth IFS.

“Right away, they could see where we needed support,” she says. “It was an easy decision.”

The relationship grew when Bayiew hired NWC client Gabby as a server assistant.

“Her skill set was perfect,” says Director of Culinary Services Dan Galvin. “And she had such a positive energy.”

Gabby progressed quickly from tidying tables to running food orders to taking orders over the phone. Her favorite part of the job is “helping residents," she says.

Did you know that we have been collecting donations in Mukilteo for more than 15 years?

Our Big Blue Truck donation depot held a summer event on Saturday, August 10 to celebrate our wonderful Mukilteo community. Thank you to all who donated, including our friends at Everett Mall who donated 345 lbs. of cloth from their denim campaign!

Start cleaning out those closets, West Seattle, because our Big Blue Truck is back! Every Saturday and Sunday, our Big Blue Truck will be parking at WaFd on California Ave SW to collect your clothing donations. Bring along your gently used clothing, shoes, small household items, and books.
