Summer Playground

Have fun in the sun while supporting our Summer Playground program! We are currently looking for Aides and Junior Leaders to work this summer at our playground sites!

The program runs June 20 – August 5; with required training scheduled throughout the month of June!

Summer Playground Aide | $10.25-$12/hr

- Supports Summer Playground program

- Conducts activities as assigned by the Senior Leader

Summer Playground Junior Leader | $12-$13/hr

- Assists the Senior Leader in conducting the various arts and crafts, games and activities.

- Supervision, leadership, following directions and assignments given by the Senior Leader.

- Assumes responsibility of the site in the absence of the Senior Leader.

- Other duties as required.

All positions will receive a wage increase on July 1, 2022.

Adaptive Recreation Summer Daycamp

Join our team and play all day with our Adaptive Recreation Summer Daycamp! We are currently hiring for the following positions to help support our program: Aide, Junior Leader, and Senior Leader.

Summer Daycamp Adaptive Senior Leader | $13.50-$14.50/hr

- Responsible for organizing and operating one site with assistance.

- Supervise, lead other staff members, and monitor the safety of the participants.

- Activity planning - some activities are pre-scheduled, but the day-to-day activities will be up to the entire staff’s creativity.

- Other duties as required.

The Community Center is a busy place and looking for Building Monitors to help keep our activities running smoothly!

Building Monitors | $12/hr

Supervision of buildings
Directing and assisting patrons
Assisting instructors/presenters with equipment needs

Splash Pad Facility Coordinator

Splish-splash at the Dodge Park Splash Pad this summer! Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation is specifically seeking Facility Coordinators for the Dodge Park Splash Pad.

Splash Pad Facility Coordinator | $14-$16/hr

- Act as a customer service agent to all patrons. Assist patrons with questions and/or concerns.

- Monitor patrons as they enter and exit the splash pad.

- Regularly check splash pad water chemicals levels and document readings.

- Other duties as required.

Park Monitor

If you love being outside in nature, we have the perfect job for you! Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation is currently hiring Park Monitors!

Park Monitor | $12/hr

This position will be responsible for litter control of parks, park rentals, general park maintenance, and assisting with setup and tear down of special events and programs. Monitors must be able to work evenings, weekends and some holidays.

All positions will receive a wage increase on July 1, 2022.

Substitute & Special Event Drivers

Sterling Heights Senior Center is looking for Substitute & Special Event Drivers to help our City residents (ages 55+) get around town!

Substitute & Special Event Drivers | $15-$17/hr

Responsible for transporting City residents over the age of 55, and individuals with disabilities, in SMART buses, mini-bus or vans. Drivers will also assist in shuttle driving for special events. Vehicles are driven within the tri-county area.

All positions will receive a wage increase on July 1, 2022.
