Fall Home Maintenance

We all can feel the fall in the air and know that in Colorado the temps can change at the drop of a hat. With that being said, don't let those cold days sneak up on you make sure you capitalize on some of the warm days to get your home ready.

  1. Clean those gutters.Your roof's drainage system annually diverts thousands of gallons of water from your house's exterior and foundation walls, so it's vital to keep this system flowing smoothly. Clogged gutters can lead to damaged exterior surfaces and water in your basement.
  2. Seal up any air leaks. Gaps in caulk and failing weartherstipping can cost homeowners an average increase of 20% in energy bills.
  3. Inspect your roof. Look for missing or curled shingles and large amount of granules in your gutters. Call a professional to make necessary repairs.
  4. Protect your outdoor faucets and have your outdoor sprinkler lines drained.
  5. Have your furnace inspected and serviced and replace your furnace filter monthly.
  6. Make sure to have gas fireplaces inspected and wood burning fireplaces cleaned.
  7. Lawn aeration and fertilization . Check with your local grass/greenhouse to learn what is best for your plants, grasses and trees.
  8. Take a good look at your driveway and sidewalks and make sure there are no cracks or uneven surfaces. The extreme temperatures can cause costly repairs that may be avoidable with just a little proactive maintenance.

Have you seen the new changes we have incorporated on our website?

As a custom home builder we are always listening and trying to incorporate new options. That being said after we built the new website we kept hearing from potential clients that they wanted floorplan options. So we listened and now have floorplans AND home & land packages! Keep an eye out as we will be bringing many more plans and packages to the website over the upcoming months. And as always we would be honored to have you refer us to your family and friends.
