This year has been complex, and sometimes cruel. As we have all stumbled our way through loss and victory and change, I have found myself pulled towards writing about the wreckage. Back in February, I lost someone very dear to me. This is how I walk through.

This is my experience at TAO which is an upscale restaurant serving many different traditional or Asian inspired dishes.

'LET'S TALK GOVERNMENT'
11 TUESDAYS OF TIMELY TOPICS
A new podcast by the Department of Government premieres Tuesday, Sept. 29, and offers 11 weekly episodes featuring discussion by faculty members. Topics range from defunding police and the 2020 election to fake news and dark tourism. Dr. Pat Nelson, chair of the Department of Government, offers an overview of the series in this short video.

Allison Allen enjoys watching students make real change on campus. Allison, who is currently involved in the Student Government and serves as a student ambassador, shares how her proudest moments have come from her involvement on campus in the third of eight profiles spotlighting the Fall 2020 BEST Board recipients.

INTERNATIONAL PRIDE
STUDENT-LED FLAG DISPLAY EFFORT
A new display installed this week on the main level of the Centennial Student Union proudly features flags of our international student home countries. The idea for the display was sparked by Sanjaya Balami, immediate past president of the International Student Association and past Student Government member.

WORKING AS ELECTION JUDGES
CIVIC INVOLVEMENT THAT PAYS
The best way to get involved in the election process - and raise a little money along the way - is to serve as an election judge. Kristy Maes with Blue Earth County describes how students can participate at polling stations. Visit the Blue Earth County Election site for more information.

BALLROOM'S BRIGHT UPGRADE
SONY'S NATIONAL SHINING EXAMPLE
The Centennial Student Union’s Ballroom was just given an upgrade thanks to the partnership with EPA Audio Visual Inc. Recently, in order to enhance the audio and visual quality of the Ballroom for all of its major events, 17 units of the Sony Professional FHZ Laser projectors were successfully installed.

CAMPUS OFFERS FLU SHOTS
Getting a flu shot has always been an important part of staying health. Students who get sick with influenza risk being too sick to go to class (even virtual class). During this pandemic, getting a flu shot is even more important. Flu shots are now available at Student Health Services. Students can schedule an appointment to get theirs by calling 507-389-6276 or by going to the Patient Portal

Shots are free with most insurances.
