World-first RNA discovery could lead to potential new breast cancer therapy

QIMR Berghofer scientists have discovered a cancer-fighting RNA molecule that could hold the key to a new way of treating the most common form of breast cancer.

Sun smart kids have 50 per cent fewer moles and a lower melanoma risk

A long-running Queensland study has found children today are developing significantly fewer moles than kids 25 years ago, with predictions of a major reduction in future melanoma risk.

Research sheds light on key drivers of endometrial cancer

A major new study has found genetics play a powerful and independent role in endometrial cancer risk - challenging the long‑held belief that obesity is the primary driver. The findings could lead to better screening of the women most at risk of developing the disease.
