November 2016 edition:
How teens carry Money Coach lessons for life

Your support of financial education is felt by teens years after the lessons end. How do we know? We asked them! Teen participants from the first few years of our Money Coach program recently shared their habits and stories of financial independence.

2016 Difference Maker award honorees: Barb McNulty & Northwestern Mutual
Barb McNulty, left, and Northwestern Mutual (represented by board director and volunteer Mike Conmey) have gone above and beyond for teens in Wisconsin.

Teenagers in Wisconsin have brighter financial futures because of Barb McNulty and dozens of supporters from Northwestern Mutual. McNulty and Northwestern Mutual were selected as the 2016 Lloyd Levin Difference Maker award winners, honoring exuberant dedication to teens in our community.

The awards were given at our Appreciation Reception, which also served as a birthday party for our 10 years of teen financial literacy. Click here for a recap and link to Facebook photos.
Ho-Chunk Nation takes a new financial literacy path

"Learning to manage your money successfully is crucial in today's world," said Clayton Winneshiek, traditional chief, about the new financial literacy program.

Every teen deserves a solid start when it comes to money. As part of that mission you share with us, we recently partnered with other financial literacy leaders to build online classes on personal finance to empower teens in the Ho-Chunk Nation.
"I am thankful that we get this class," said high-school senior Lacey Hopinka, "because I do not know a lot about money."

Supporter spotlight: Woller-Anger ensures financial skills for more teens

Woller-Anger & Company just made an investment in our community's teenagers. Brenda Campbell, president and CEO, Make A Difference - Wisconsin, noted that this generous gift equates to financial literacy programs for a classroom of teens this year.

Jon Grandelis, long-time volunteer at the Elm Grove-based insurance agency, said: "It is so rewarding to work with and hear from students as a volunteer. We know that support of Make A Difference ripples through our community as teens put financial skills to use."
