Focus on the Positive!

It is so easy to see the negative in a situation and sometimes difficult to find the positive, but I invite you to step up to the challenge.

Our days are getting shorter, the temperature is getting cooler, the grill is covered, it is currently raining and the sandals have taken a back seat in the closet to closed-toe shoes and boots. So what does this mean? Well, we get to make some delicious soups and chilis. We get to wear the comfortable sweaters and hoodies and we get to embrace the change of seasons.

All of these changes are good. They help us to appreciate what we have and focus on the positive. Embrace what is placed before you and make the best of it. Keep yourself in the best shape possible-that includes having your spine checked for vertebral subluxation because you can never be at your best if you're held back by spinal misalignments that limit your potential. We'll see you on your next visit!

Overflowing glass of water

Think of a glass and the water in it as an indicator of how much physical, chemical, and emotional stress your body can handle before you subluxate. When it overflows, your spine, nerve system, and you are in bad shape.

In the society we live in today stress just keeps adding up: lack of sleep, coffee, stressful job, deadlines, family issues-the usual stuff. And for many, it fills the glass to the brim.

And then something changes. The pollen index shoots through the roof, a new project at work, someone in the family is sick, and that puts your body over the edge and your capacity to accommodate the additional stress causes the water to overflow.

You have two options. The first option would be to try and eliminate as many stresses as possible. Good luck with that one. While we can choose to leave a stressful job or stressful relationship, sadly many of the stresses we're exposed to we just cannot get rid of no matter how hard we try.

The second option is to make your body stronger and healthier. In other words, be a bigger glass. By reducing stress to your nerve system caused by subluxations you should be able to better accommodate the stress in your life and have greater margin of adaptability and survival.

While chiropractic care can't eliminate all your stress, it can help you to better deal with it so that you can better take care of yourself and those that rely on you.

Regular chiropractic care and WD-40

Most people believe that as you get older, the less flexible you become. Actually, it's the other way around. The stiffer your joints get, the faster you age and develop disease.

In a a classic 1921 study tracing terminal disease and its relationship to spinal degeneration, Henry Windsor, MD concluded, "Disease appears to precede old age and to cause it. The spine becomes stiff first and old age follows. Therefore we may say, a man is as old as his spine; the arteries become hardened later from constant vasomotor spasm following sympathetic irritation."

Regular chiropractic care acts like WD-40 for your spine - keeping your joints flexible, your organs youthful and your health potential at its maximum. If you want to win the battle against time, make regular chiropractic care a part of your age defying regime.

It's not how you feel, it's how you function

form and function

Racing cars have spoilers to cut down on wind "drag".

Structure affects function.

Swimmers may shave their bodies and wear skin-tight suits to lessen their resistance in the water.

Structure affects function.

Bowling balls are round for a reason. How many pins could you hit if the bottom of the ball was shaved flat?

Structure affects function.

Your body is functioning exactly as it is currently designed. To change the function of your body, YOU MUST CHANGE THE DESIGN, the structure!

When you and your family have your spines checked weekly for subluxations, you influence your structure (body) in a positive way. If your structure is better, your function will be better, every time.
