September is Library Card Sign-up Month!

Celebrate Library Card Sign-up Month this September with the Farmington Public Library and the American Library Association! We're inviting everyone to discover the incredible resources and opportunities available at your local library by signing up for a library card.

Today’s libraries are vibrant community centers offering much more than just books. At the Farmington Public Library, you'll find diverse programs, job search assistance, homework help, book clubs, author talks, storytimes, and more.

During the Month of September, we're waiving the $2 replacement fee for lost cards. Just bring your government issued photo ID, proof of your mailing address with your name on it (personal check, current utility bill, current piece of mail, etc.) and Social Security number or second form of identification.

Romance Readers: Royal Romance

Wednesday, September 11

6:00 PM

Forget what you know about traditional book groups: instead of reading the same book and discussing it, we're going to be reading a book that has the same theme.

For this meeting, read a Royal Romance (or 2) and come prepared to discuss how it fits within the Romance Genre. Castles and crowns and princes, oh my! Royal Romances feature, you guessed it, royalty! These romances want you to imagine life as a princess (or a prince), and how life as a royal plays into love. These books often feature princes undercover, looking for love in order to escape an arranged marriage, or other aspects of being royal in the modern world!

Anne Hillerman

Thursday, September 12

6:00 PM

Join us at the Farmington Public Library for best-selling author Anne Hillerman, author of the Leaphorn, Chee, and Manuelito series. She will be signing and talking about her most recent book, Lost Birds. Books will be available to purchase from Amy’s Bookcase.

To learn more about Lost Birds and find readalikes, check out our database, NoveList, free with your library card.
