From the CEO - Legislative Call to Action

Two proposed bills, Senate Bill 450 and Assembly Bill 462, would reverse much of the Homeowners Protection Act of the 2015 legislative session,  which would dismantle those critical reforms to the construction defect litigation process.

We need you to send the message to lawmakers that our industry wants to preserve the right to repair homes prior to litigation and protect the industry and homeowners from frivolous lawsuits by taking action today.
  1. Click here to express your opinions about both bills to Nevada lawmakers. You will need to select AB 462 and SB 450 individually from the drop-down menu to register your opinions about each bill.

  2. Contact your state assembly representative and senator, click here for the "Who's My Legislator/What's my District" website page.
The hearings have not yet been scheduled. Due to pending legislative deadlines, we will likely have only 24 hours' notice about the hearing. Please be prepared to attend on short notice.

Safety Meeting

Construction Safety Training

Construction site safety continues to improve, but the dangers are still lurking on a day to day basis. It has been shown that ongoing training reduces accidental exposures. Many organizations and trade groups offer safety training material. We would like to remind you about the importance of utilizing the tools available for training your employees.
Many of the pitfalls of construction work can be reduced or removed through training and diligence. Many organizations do excellent new employee safety orientations, but forget to continue with training and hazard recognition.
The importance of daily, weekly, and monthly meetings is paramount. The monthly meetings lend themselves to an opportunity to discuss organizational goals and expectations. Weekly meetings allow issues to be discussed while they are fresh in the minds of employees. Daily meetings give workers a chance to discuss recent changes, challenges and concerns. While daily and weekly meetings can sometimes be lengthy, the daily meeting can happen at the jobsite and take just a few minutes. Safety meetings can draw attention to unforeseen, unexpected, and overlooked safety issues. The daily meetings also help get the worker get in the right frame of mind for working safe.
PGM Safety Services recommends holding regular safety meetings. We would like to support your safety training efforts. For help with safety training topics, setting up meetings, or construction safety questions or concerns, please contact PGM Safety Services an affiliate company of Pro Group Management, and we will be happy to assist.
