Our latest calls have been coming from youth and families effected by the mental health fallout of COVID-19 and the latest shelter-in-place and social distancing orders from California State Government and the Federal Government.

On The Line... At Home Edition!

We have brand new episodes of our On The Line podcast on our Website , Spotify , and Stitcher . Due to the current "work from home" orders, our hosts Bianca and Logan are sharing stories and experiences, from home! On The Line... At Home Edition touches on topics including:

Why I Volunteer...

Every month we will be interviewing and highlighting a different member of our crisis line team. Each conversation is with a real member of our staff and/or volunteer team. Today we want to highlight John who’s been with the California Youth Crisis Line for a year and a half. Here's an excerpt from their interview:

"I was looking for different opportunities to bolster my experience, my skills, because I’m a psychology student and my future goals is in Marriage and Family Therapy. I already worked and volunteered extensively with youth and young kids, but I was looking for something different."

Remote Crisis Line Volunteer Opportunities Available

Due to the current pandemic measure, the California Youth Crisis Line has revamped the way it conducts its training to accommodate California's shelter in place orders. We will be providing an All-Virtual training for new volunteer crisis counselors from May 4-14 via ZOOM.

In addition to having our upcoming training be virtual, this opportunity will also allow us to accept volunteers from Across California, so please share this with anyone who is age 16+ and interested in helping youth and families in crisis.

We are also adding a brand new opportunity as a volunteer resource validator ! These volunteers would be tasked with helping our crisis line validate the 1000+ resources and services we recommend.

Both volunteer opportunities are remote and can be done from home.
