Framework Advancement for the ‘First Stage’ Return to Responsible Play
|
Field Hockey BC is proactively advancing the approved First Stage Responsible Return to Play Framework with the introduction of a permissible extension to the ratio for athlete participation (maximum number of participants on a full field of play), and a streamlined ratio for the required number of associated safety officers.
In this case, the maximum number of athlete participants permissible for full field activity will increase from 18 athlete participants to 32 athlete participants and the number of required safety officers will reduce by half (50% – 4 safety officers to 2 safety officers).
Access the full version of Communique #5 here and the updated Framework here.

Membership Registration for 2020-21 - COVID-19 Coverage
|
|
In these unprecedented times, Field Hockey Canada has adopted new measures in order to return to the field of play. One of these measures is the need for additional liability insurance. Having full liability insurance to cover COVID-19 related cases, ensures all our participants, including coaches, board directors and our other hundreds of valued volunteers, can return with confidence.
The cost for this peace of mind is $8 per participant. This should be considered as a non-refundable COVID-surcharge which will provide cover for 1 full year. Start your registration process here.
As a benefit, members who register for the 2020-21 Season prior to September 1st
WILL NOT need to pay the additional $8.

Online Community Umpire Courses – SPRING/SUMMER 2020
|
FHBC has made the decision to remove the cost for the Community Umpire Course until August 31, 2020. This is being offered to all members of the field hockey community within Canada. Please contact eventsandofficials@fieldhockeybc.com with your name, club, province and Field Hockey Membership number, who will provide you with the instructions to access the course free of charge. This will enable more umpires to complete the courses prior to getting back on the field and playing the game that we love.
The Online Community Courses will consist of a series of lessons and practice questions designed to prepare you for the final quiz. You will need a grade of 75% or higher in order to pass the course. Registrants will have until August 31, 2020 to complete the course, at which time the current session will expire. Participants who fail to complete the course by the deadline will need to re-register in the following session. Course registration for this session closes on August 31, 2020.
