Hello and Happy New Year! This is our first monthly newsletter of 2020. In this issue we will cover registration for the Senior Indoor Tournament happening on Vancouver Island, our Annual General Meeting and the 2020 squad of the Men's National Program announced by Field Hockey Canada.
Field Hockey BC AGM Notice  
Dear Field Hockey BC Members,

The Society’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the 2020 Field Hockey BC Annual General Meeting will take place on February 10th, 2020. A weekday evening has been chosen following requests at the 2019 AGM to allocate a time outside of weekend playing commitments for members.

The 2020 AGM will be hosted at Fortius Sport and Health in Burnaby, BC and will convene at 6.30 pm. All pertinent AGM documentation will be posted in advance of the AGM in the documents section of the Field Hockey BC website at the following link: http://fieldhockeybc.com/documents/.
Register for the 2020 Women’s Senior Indoor Championship
Registration is still open for the 2020 Women’s Senior Indoor Championship that will happen at the Cowichan Community Centre, Duncan, BC, on Vancouver Island. Hurry up, registration closes this Friday, January 17.

WHEN: February 1-2, 2020
ENTRY DEADLINE: January 17, 2020
FEE: $300 per team
WHERE: Duncan, BC

Registration closed for the U18 Girls Indoor Field Hockey Tournament
Registration for the U18 Girls Indoor Field Hockey Tournament closed last Wednesday. Like the Senior's tournament, the U18 one will take place at the Cowichan Community Centre, in Duncan, BC. Don't forget the date: two weekends from now, on January 25-26,2020. The format will consist of Round Robin games and should finish by 3:30 pm on Sunday.

Two players representing BC on the Women's Indoor National Squad
Field Hockey BC would like to congratulate Kathleen Leahy and Elise Wong. They were selected for the Women's Indoor National Squad and, along with 12 other players from different provinces, are heading to Minsk, Belarus, for a Training Tour week, between January 16 and January 24.

FHC announces the 2020 Men's National Program Squads
British Columbia is very well represented on the 2020 Field Hockey Canada Men's National Program squads.

Out of the 29 names selected for the Men's National Team, 27 are BC players. Additionally, six of the 10 players in the Senior Development squad are also from BC; as well as 17 out of 34 in the Junior Development squad.

FHC has partnered with West Vancouver Field Hockey Club for on-field training and weight training will happen at the Richmond Olympic Oval.

Field Hockey BC is happy to announce that our registration process has been streamlined for those who want to take any of the courses offered by us.

If you are keen on becoming a coach, umpire or technical official, all you have to do is fill out our Waitlist Form, check the boxes for the courses you are interested in, and we will reach out to you once these courses are being offered.
