2022 Field Hockey BC Virtual Annual General Meeting

The upcoming AGM on February 9th, 2022 (6.30pm), will be hosted in a VIRTUAL capacity utilizing both video conference and web-based voting technology. This is a similar format to that followed successfully for 2021 FHBC AGM roceedings.

2022 Women’s Senior Indoor Championship Cancellation
Based on the information provided by the Provincial Health Officer (PHO) last Tuesday, January 18th, confirming that the current restrictions will not be revised until February 15th, Field Hockey BC has regrettably decided to cancel the 2022 Women's Senior Indoor Championship.

Provincial Program Talent ID Nomination Deadline
Field Hockey BC would like to remind our members the deadline for nominating U18 & U16 female athletes to the 2022 FHBC Provincial Program Talent ID and National Championship Team Trials is January 31st!

The nominations must be completed by a coach. Coaches can access the online FHBC Athlete Nomination Form here.

Athlete Nomination Deadlines:

  • U18 & U16 Female Athletes: January 31, 2022
  • U18 Male Athletes: February 28, 2022

2022 Provincial Program Coach Recruitment

Field Hockey BC is still accepting applications for various coach roles within our Provincial Program:

U16 or U18 Provincial Head Coach (Tier 1)
U16 or U18 Provincial Assistant Coach (Tier 1)
U16 or U18 Regional Head Coach (Tier 2)
U16 or U18 Regional Assistant Coach (Tier 2)

All teams will compete at the 2022 FHC National Championships in Surrey this summer.

If you are interested in applying for any Provincial Program coach position, please complete the application form.

The deadline to apply is January 24th, 2022.

Field Hockey Canada Team of Teams Year End Survey
Field Hockey Canada is reaching out to the community in an effort to collect feedback on their Team of Teams 2021 initiative.

This survey is to gauge how the field hockey community felt about the initiative and learn more on how FHC can improve this movement in the future. This questionnaire should take approximately four minutes to complete.

2022 Pan American Cup

The 2022 Pan American Cup in Santiago, Chile, started this week. The Canadian Women's National Team beat Peru by 14-0 on their opening game. The Men's team played agains Mexico on their first match and won by 11-1.

PacificSport Fraser Valley program and viaSport's NCCP Courses
PacificSport Fraser Valley is offering a free Strength & Conditioning for girls in the Fraser Valley region. Beginning January 24th, participants will attend 1 weekly session for 1 hour at True North Strength & Fitness. Girls aged 13-15 will participate in the program on Monday evenings 7pm-8pm, while those aged 16-18 will participate on Tuesday evenings 7pm-8pm.

January 24 – March 7 (Mondays 13-15yrs, Tuesdays 16-18yrs)
7:00PM – 8:00PM in Langley
FREE
