Message from the CHRO
The AUM Office of Human Resources welcomes the Spring and all of the exciting changes a new season brings. Many of you have shared how good it feels to return to normal campus operations, and we could not agree more. While the past year has certainly tested our resiliency, the Warhawk family remained steadfast in its mission to serve our students and one another. Together, we have embraced technology, devised innovative approaches to our service delivery, and re-engineered our processes to gain efficiency and provide an enhanced experience to those we serve. Together, we soar!

AUM Performance Review Cycle
(June 1, 2020- May 31, 2021)
Staff performance evaluations are an important part of employment at AUM. The process is not just about completing a form, it’s about managers and employees making the most of an opportunity to engage in high quality discussions about performance, development, and goals.

Although performance evaluations are encouraged to be more than just a once-a-year process, Human Resources must ensure that staff performance evaluations are completed annually. Below are a few dates to keep in mind as you begin now to review your performance and that of your team members.

May 31, 2021 Optional Self- Reviews Due (Performance Planning Self-Evaluation)
June 18, 2021 Performance Reviews Due (www.amps.aum.edu/account/login)

Policy/Benefit Highlights

Does this tax season have you looking for ways to reduce your tax obligation?

Maximize your Auburn University benefits by considering participating in the university's 403(b) program. University personnel have a means of deferring federal and state income tax that is unique to colleges, universities and other nonprofit organizations. Under Section 403(b) of the Internal Revenue Code, tax deferred annuity plans offer individuals tax and retirement benefit advantages. These plans reduce the employee's gross wages before federal and state taxes are computed. Even better - did you know that the university matches $1,650 per year in contributions to your 403(b) account?

If you would like to consult with a representative about this or any other voluntary retirement program, or set up a virtual appointment, please reach out to one of the university’s benefit providers. If you are not already enrolled and would like to be, contact [email protected] for more information. If you are enrolled and want to make adjustments to the amount you contribute each pay period, you can do so in Self-Service Banner.Benef

The Healthy Tigers Wellness Initiative is a healthcare benefit for employees who subscribe to the Auburn University Health insurance plan. Participating in annual health and wellness screenings can result in a $25.00 per month credit (plus an additional $25.00 if a spouse participates) credit on health insurance premiums. As long as you participate in a Healthy Tigers clinic once per calendar year, you will continue to receive the discount. It is not on a rolling year – just once per year. For example, an employee could participate in a Healthy Tigers clinic in January 2020 and as long as they participate in another Healthy Tigers clinic anytime in 2021 by December, they will get the discount.
