JA of North Florida receives grant from Bank of America Intergenerational Employee Network

Bank of America
Thanks to a national initiative by Bank of America's Intergenerational Employee Network (IGEN), JA of North Florida will receive a portion of $20,000 being awarded nationally to Junior Achievement!

This grant will bring "JA in a Day" to students at Westview K-8 on Wednesday, December 14. Bank of America employees will teach JA It's My Business (6th grade), JA It's My Future (7th grade), and JA Economics For Success (8th grade) during this one-day event.

These Title I middle school students will receive JA's financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness programs, who otherwise would not. Thank you Bank of America!
Save the Date - JA Hall of Fame - March 13, 2017

JA Hall of Fame

The annual Hall of Fame event recognizes individuals, companies, and elite supporters who have substantially contributed to Junior Achievement's success and the young people reached locally since 1963.

Please join us in honoring 2017 Thompson S. Baker Award recipient, Lawrence "Laurie" DuBow, for his outstanding philanthropic work in our community.

100% of funds raised by the JA Hall of Fame remain in North Florida and are used to provide financial literacy programs to North Florida's students.

JA Program Updates

Economics of Healthy Eating

Jax Farmers Market

Each day of the week from 9 AM to 1 PM, you will find students participating in our programs at the JA Financial Literacy Center. First they experience a "life size" version of the JA Our City program, then they learn about the Economics of Healthy Eating which is followed by a trip to the Farmer's Market to purchase healthy fruits and veggies. We have many volunteer spots through May 2017 for this fun, one-day experience: view available time slots here.

PwC volunteers

Students at Beauclerc Elementary experienced JA in a Day on November 15 thanks to volunteers from Bank of America/Merrill Lynch, and students at Mandarin Oaks Elementary experienced JA in a Day on December 2 thanks to PwC volunteers. The students enjoyed having the volunteers in their classrooms as they learned about topics ranging from production, taxes and STEM jobs!
