Kraus-Anderson Development Company hires Craig Patterson as Vice President of Development

Kraus-Anderson Construction company is a family owned and managed business that began in 1897. The company recently hired Craig Patterson. Patterson, who has 29 years of experience in development and leasing in industrial build-to-suit investment properties, will be vice president of development.

"Kraus-Anderson Development Company has hired commercial real estate veteran Craig Patterson as vice president of development.  He will be responsible for new business and relationship creation, and for project real estate transactions, including negotiations, deal-making, leasing and business partnerships."

MDI Opens New Facility in Hibbing MDI

a Minnesota-based nonprofit social enterprise with a mission to serve people with disabilities by offering inclusive employment opportunities and services, announced it has officially opened its brand new facilit
y in Hibbin g, Minnesota. Located outside downtown Hibbing near the Range Regional Airport, MDI's new 36,000-sq-ft structure includes office space, a lunchroom, locker rooms, and a modern and bright production floor. It replaces the former 100-year-old Hibbing facility, which was originally a Greyhound bus terminal.

Now Showing: Art at Home

Local interior designer Lisa Peck of LiLu Interiors teamed with Bloomington's Artistry Theater and Visual Arts with an exhibition meant to showcase locally made art and how to weave it into your home. Peck and the project's other five designers will hold a panel discussion about incorporating art into home décor on March 27. Art in the Home runs through April 13 at Artistry Theater and Visual Arts, 1800 Old Shakopee Rd. W., Bloomington.

MEDA Awarded $1MM for Growth and Development of Minority-Owned Businesses in Minneapolis

Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) announced that Metropolitan Economic Development Association (MEDA) is one of five recipients of the $5MM NEXT Fund for Innovation (NEXT Fund), a pilot program that builds on ten years of innovation and impact driven by the Wells Fargo NEXT Awards for Opportunity Finance. Developed with support from Wells Fargo and Prudential Financial, the program funds business models, products, platforms or processes holding the ability to drive transformational change and scale in the community development financial institution industry. The NEXT Fund provides a new source of patient, flexible capital for community development financial institution innovation. 

MEDA will provide a new, patient equity-like capital product to support early-stage minority-owned businesses in Minneapolis that have potential for high growth.

Accenture to Add 400 Technology Jobs in Minneapolis, Contributing to City's Growing Tech Community

Accenture (NYSE: ACN) will add 400 highly skilled technology jobs in Minneapolis by the end of 2020, growing its workforce in the market by 25 percent.
The company, named a Top Workplace by the Star Tribune, is recruiting people with the critical skills needed to serve clients, including in high-growth areas such as digital, cloud and security services. The new jobs are part of Accenture's accelerated investment in innovation in the U.S. Announced last February, the nationwide investment includes 15,000 new jobs, $1.4 billion in training and 10 new innovation hubs by the end of 2020. The company's current innovation hubs in the U.S. are in New York, Chicago, Houston, San Jose, Washington D.C. and Boston.

Bituminous Roadways, Inc. Receives Two Nationally Recognized Awards

On February 7, 2018, during the National Pavement Expo in Cleveland, Ohio, Bituminous Roadways, Inc. was presented the "Best of the Web" award, along with a "Paving Award (non-parking lot)" for their work on the Shakopee Public Schools, Vaughan Field athletic complex. The awards were presented by Pavement Maintenance & Reconstruction magazine.

The Sprint Works Program extends savings and special offers to members of the Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce. The Sprint Works Program offers a discounts of 15% on select rate plans to members of the Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce. If the customer is active on Unlimited Freedom, they will receive a $5 discount instead of the % discount associated with the company.
Any subscriber on the account qualifies for the Sprint Works Program discount. The name on the proof document must match a name listed as a subscriber. The subscriber does not need to be the Account Holder.
