TIPS OF THE MONTH:


Do you have leftover automotive fluids, cleaners, old batteries, or other items you don’t know how to properly dispose of? Gwinnett Water Resources and Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful will dispose of these products for you at the upcoming Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, February 10 at Gwinnett County Fairgrounds from 9:00am to noon. Please be sure to enter through the main entrance on Sugarloaf Parkway.

Residents can safely drop household hazardous waste for recycling, reuse, or disposal. To see a list of accepted items, visit GwinnettCounty.com/HHWEvent.


Below is a complete list of what will be accepted:

  • Aerosol/spray pesticides
  • Automotive products (engine degreaser, brake fluid, transmission fluid, antifreeze, etc.)
  • Cleaners, corrosives, spot removers, acids and bases
  • Aerosol/spray paint
  • Auto batteries
  • Batteries (household and rechargeable)
  • Chlorinated solvents
  • Cooking oil and grease
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Flammables (lighter fluid and waste fuels (kerosene, gasoline, diesel fuel, etc.)
  • Fluorescent bulbs and ballasts
  • Insecticides
  • Latex and water based paints
  • Lawn care products
  • Mercury
  • Mercury salts and elemental mercury thermometers
  • Oil based paint and stains
  • Oxidizers
  • Pesticides
  • Poisons
  • Propane cylinders
  • Solvents and varnishes
  • Thermostats and other mercury containing items
  • Thinners and paint strippers
  • Weed killer
  • Wood preservatives

Items we will NOT be accepting include:

  • Ammunition
  • Radioactive Waste
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Biomedical/biohazard waste 


YOUR LAWN MAINTENANCE THIS MONTH: WINTER SEASON.


Winter season is here! The crews worked hard on Winter pruning, and beds cleanups to prep the yards for the Spring.

Monkey grass is being pruned, as needed.

Small Crape Myrtles are being trimmed this month.

Again this month, Fescue grass is cut as needed. Warm season grasses like Zoysia and Bermuda are dormant and will not be cut during the cold month.


Always feel free to contact us if you have special maintenance requests. We are happy to forward the message to your crew.


It is the perfect time to call for mulch and pine straw installation. Contact us for a quote.


We put your yard debris at the street for County pickup, if you do not have signed up for us to remove it. Give us a call if you need to add that service to your account, or call your Waste Pro to add it to your trash service.

JANUARY PROJECTS

NEW DECK, NEW PAVERS PATIO, BRIDGE and MULCH

  • On this project we extended the deck and made it much stronger to be able to hold a new hot tub. We installed a privacy wall. New decking and railing, also installed a new screen door when we connected the new deck to the existing screen porch.
  • We also installed a new paver patio, a new landing for the stairs, a small bridge, plants and pine straw, egg rocks under the new deck, we also did a clean up, and other things...

FENCE PROJECT

  • For this fence installation project, we removed the existing fence and replaced it with this nice 4ft picket fence.
  • ο»ΏThe client was also having erosion issues at the gate so we installed a box drain with concrete surround.

NEW FRONT YARD LANDSCAPING

  • This project we gave a Front yard makeover and did a new landscape installation

NEW FENCE

  • For this project, we installed a new wood fence installed with hog wire, to create a dog park. Turned out very nice.
