Miles That Matter Pikesville 5K Goes Virtual!
Get ready for the Pikesville 5K, which will be the social media event of the fall! We are dedicating the Pikesville 5K to all of our local heroes who have made a difference in the last several months during COVID-19.

Run/Walk on your Own Time, from the Safety of your own Surroundings
Registrants can run or walk between November 6-9, our designated "race days." 5K participants will have custom access to an interactive app, RaceJoy, which will include real-time GPS tracking. Runners can use the app to know their pace, strategize, and interact with race organizers and spectators.

Highly Interactive
That's right! Spectators can participate too and cheer you on virtually! Registrants can receive real-time support from friends and family with live tracking and cheers!

Form Family, Friends, & Work Teams
We encourage registrants to form teams--anyone from anywhere can participate! Get your kids involved (special pricing for kids 12 and under), your parents, your co-workers, your friends, and/or your networking groups. Interact with people from all over the world while supporting two great causes: the POM Regional Chamber and There Goes My Hero.

Sponsorship Opportunities for Businesses
The POM Chamber creates affordable marketing opportunities to promote your business. The Pikesville 5K is a recognized and respected brand, highly advertised for weeks. We have sponsorships to get your brand out to thousands through strategic marketing. Plus, you get more when you sponsor a chamber event: when you support the chamber, you support the community. Customers are paying more attention to advertising than ever before to see what businesses can do for them during this trying time.

We Know You're not in it for the Prizes, but . . .
Each registrant/team will have the opportunity to raise money for our two great causes. We will be offering prizes for tiered fundraising; registrants can reach out to friends and family for donations to support their race. For every fundraising level met, you get a prize. Every registrant (over the age of 12) will also be entered to win one amazing prize, so stay tuned for announcements!

Support the POM Chamber & Blood Cancer Patients
Run/Walk to support our nonprofit partner, There Goes My Hero. There Goes My Hero, a 501(c)(3), supports those impacted by blood cancer. A portion of the proceeds raised from the Pikesville 5K will be donated to TGMH, which works closely with the National Bone Marrow Registry and other organizations to provide a support system to blood cancer patients and their families, including transportation services, parking coupons, and housing during treatment. Funds raised will also support the POM Chamber, a 501(c)(6) committed to the economic well-being and development of our community. The POM Chamber advocates on behalf of small business, serves the region with valued community events, and supports economic growth to insure that our area is a great place to live, work, and play.

Cool T-Shirts & Race Medals are a Must!
Each registrant will receive a performance race t-shirt, complete with cool design, and a race medal prior to November 6. Race medals are new this year!

Milbrook Elementary in Need of School Supplies

Nonprofits that typically conduct school supply drives have not been able to do so this summer due to COVID-19. As a result, schools do not have the amount of supplies they need to hand out to students in need during special supply pick up times.

Help Milbrook Elementary by purchasing school supplies through Amazon. Supplies will be sent directly to the school to be organized by staff and safely distributed to students in need throughout the fall. Organized by the POM Chamber and Milbrook Elementary.

The STEM Center of Excellence was founded by Eric Davis, a lead business analyst with UPS. Davis imagines a Greater Baltimore where every community has its own STEM Gym where students and employers come together to cross the Technology Gap bridge that is separating the STEM workforce from the STEM workplace. By 2028, Greater Baltimore can become a technology resource hub for America, overflowing with talent previously unreachable; the STEM GEMS. We partner with local STEM businesses to provide the coaching and mentoring of the STEM Gems in way that is beneficial to the student and employer simply because of the cooperative and collaborative programming in our STEM Gyms. In joint collaboration with community service organizations who have a similar passion to advance STEM education and employment for students K-20, we will create a sustainable Greater Baltimore STEM Eco-system.
