Congratulations to our HQC Stable Challenge Winner!
The USHJA Horsemanship Quiz Stable Challenge wrapped up July 15.

To participate, at least three junior and/or amateur students per trainer had to take the online Horsemanship Quiz Challenge Practice Quiz between June 15 and July 15.. At the end of the 30-day challenge, the three top scores under each trainer were averaged to provide an overall score and the highest scoring trainer per zone is the winner.

Congratulations to Zone 4's winner Jennifer Pigue and and Flying Pigue Ranch!

The highest scoring trainer in each USHJA zone wins a unique trainer-inspired award package designed to benefit the entire barn, which includes a gift card from Nutrena, a Shapley's gift set, a one-year USHJA membership, a free 2022 Recognized Riding Academy membership and additional awards from USHJA sponsors. The highest scoring trainer overall will also receive an Essex Classics shirt.

USHJA Recognized Riding Academy Spotlight: Cavallo Farms
We heard from Amy Center with Cavallo Farms, a USHJA Recognized Riding Academy in Tallahassee, Florida.

Tell us a little about your program and who you serve.
Cavallo Farms is a full service Hunter Jumper facility offering lessons and training for all ages and levels. We host local one day competitions, clinics including Mini EAP clinics, are home to three IEA Equestrian teams, and have five instructors available. Our instructors have experience in all rings, both as competitors and trainers, including a ‘R’ USEF licensed judge.

What made you want to become a Recognized Riding Academy?
We support the recognition and expansion of the classic forward seat riding system as well as proper horsemanship skills. We think USHJA strives to recognize those facilities that endeavor to expand this education. We are proud to be a Recognized Riding Academy.

Briefly tell us about your star lesson horse and why he/she is the best lesson horse around!
Our star lesson pony is Petie, he is 25 years old and has taught too many kids to count. He is a small pony that has been with us for 20 years and has started equestrian dreams for so many children. Not only is he adorable, but he is so patient when teaching beginners on or off of the lunge line as well as on the ground. Petie is loved by all!

GHJA Education Festival is a huge success!

The 2021 Georgia Hunter Jumper Association's Education Festival took place June 29-July 1 at
Wills Park in Alpharetta, Georgia.

The Education Festival was an incredible three day format of clinics utilizing the knowledge and industry expertise of Diane Carney, Bibby Farmer and Wendy Arndt. The structure of the Festival was such that it involved 80 riders in three rings. Each ring was dedicated to a variety of riders and horses, ranging from short stirrup and pony riders all the way up to high level equitation and jumpers. This enabled each clinician to focus on their specific goals with their clinic groups. The Festival also hosted a variety of vendors and educational ventures which, along with a food truck and social events, helped lend a true Festival feeling to this inaugural event.

The event raised proceeds to go toward the Wills Park Foundation. Plans are underway for the Educational Festival 2022!
