Each year, the USHJA Foundation offers three young pony riders the opportunity to attend and compete at Pony Finals. This grant is not strictly monetary in nature, but rather experience-based.

The scholarship is designed to encourage further education among equestrians. The USHJA Foundation awards up to $25,000 to be used for college, graduate, trade or professional school.

USHJA Recognized Riding Academy Spotlight: Cadence Riding Academy
Learn more about Cadence Riding Academy, a USHJA Recognized Riding Academy in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Tell us a little about your program and who you serve.
The Cadence Riding Academy serves the greater Oklahoma City area. The Cadence Academy program originated in 2007 and has grown to be the largest academy program in the state of Oklahoma with five professional instructors, including two USHJA Certified Trainers, and 40 school horses for all skill levels.

What made you want to become a Recognized Riding Academy?
I feel that being a Recognized Riding Academy demonstrates to our customers that our program is recognized by a national governing organization and shows that we follow stringent guidelines and maintain a professional and safe program for the community.

Tell us about your star lesson horse and why he/she is the best lesson horse around!
All of our horses are "stars" but I would say that our lesson horse "Sully" is a very special lesson horse because he was the first lesson horse we purchased when our program began in 2007. Sully is a 28 year old Registered Appaloosa red roan gelding that has safely taught hundreds of new riders over the years. He is very gentle and has the best canter departure ever!
